I hadn't done any updates on Lea lately so I figured I throw together a little post ^.^ Lea is due to have her foal in just about 2.5 months! You can tell that she's getting a tummy on her and she's definitely starting to act like she's pregnant. She's such a sweetheart

I have some very sad and unfortunate news. Two nights ago, Lea dropped her foal unexpectedly. She had shown no signs of being ready to foal earlier in the day and she gave birth a month early. During the night feeding time (when Lea gets fed), she came up to the gate and she was covered in blood. The deceased foal was found out in a paddock and there was nothing we could do. Since it was her first foal, we aren't entirely sure what went wrong and it's really hit us kind of hard. Everyone was looking forward to having the little Friesian frolicking around next month

Lea was checked by the vet and appears to be fine. RIP
