Why won't people just...GO AWAY

So there's this particular social media site, on which it's customary to post feelings, emotions, opinions, quotes, activities, etc. Every time I post an opinion about *anything*, this one girl takes it to heart and feels the need to go on a rant. We're not even "friends" and I've never even met her, so I don't know why she can't just leave me alone. Unfortunately she has access to my stuff through some mutual friends, if you could call them that... Like one time I made a comment about some of my schoolmates, who had a tendency to go to class...how should I say...under some influences :shock: They don't do their homework, don't pay attention in class, don't study, but are always talking about wanting lots of money and nice things. I said something about how ridiculous it is to act so stupid partying all the time and wonder why you don't have nice things. The girl, and all her little buddies, started ranting and raving about me, threatening to "knock me off my high horse", calling me jealous (of what? I don't know) and all sorts of other things :roll: Today, I said something to the effect of "I'm done letting people pull me down out of my good mood for silly reasons" and she went on about how people shouldn't make negative comments when they're so far from perfect blah blah blah It annoys the heck out of me. Mainly because I don't even know her and never think about her until she attacks me, then I feel like I can't even write on my own page in peace. I wish she would get a life :x

I hate that site in general. Always have and always will. I tried it at some point so I had a better idea of it and to solidify my feelings about it and YUP. I do -not- like it at all. Honestly I could care less about about people's statuses on there. It's usually something very vague, song lyrics, or pertains to a certain person and is like some inside thing. People also act very ridiculous on there and you could put out a bad image to potential colleges/employers/etc. I do not like my information just floating around the internet like that. I don't feel the need to do that. People can choose to use it if they want, it's their choice. I would rather call, text, or email the person I am specifically needing to contact. It all comes down to preference. I find though, that once you stop enjoying something, it may be time to take a break or get rid of it. I didn't enjoy it so I got rid of it. ^^ Anyways, to your problem xD. I believe there is a way to block her from going on your page at all or even seeing your posts. When you go to make a post I believe that's where you find the option to block her view. I don't think she should be commenting on your things but it seems like she has nothing else to do. You did sort of provoke her with the "I'm done letting people pull me down out of my good mood for silly reasons" comment. Just don't even acknowledge her in -any- way at all. Don't post those vague things where someone could think it applies to them. It leads to confusion and possibly more fights. However, do keep that phrase in your head and listen to your own self. Don't let her bother you!

Unfortunately online it is very easy for bullying to occur. It's so easy for them because they are behind a computer screen. There is no physical altercation and when they are done they can simply log off. I think its an impossible task to ever stop bullying online, it just won't happen. That's why everyone needs to be careful when they are online. When someone is that aggressive they are most likely upset at something else in their life or are very bored. You can't take internet comments insults to heart, you just can't. They will always be there unfortunately and I think a thicker skin is required to be online. But yeah Bryson, she is being very ridiculous

. I don't know who has the time and effort to do those types of things. As I said, try to ignore her. Nothing is less satisfying for them than when they get no reaction at all. Hopefully she'll move on and stop bothering you. Keep your chin up!

I'm very rarely on there at all, and I've thought about getting rid of it numerous times. The main reason that keeps me from doing so is the fact that many of my childhood friends and neighbors often change numbers and I don't know until the post it there...I would've lost touch with almost all of my old friends by now. And there are a couple of social groups (like a swing dancing club that I'm active in) that put most of their updates and information on there. Also, like I said before, I never think about that girl except when she starts going crazy on me. None of my statuses are ever about her, I post about my life, my thoughts and my experiences (like most people) Since she's never in my life, thoughts, or experiences it annoys me when she assumes that random statuses (that shouldn't be offensive at all) are about her. But I didn't even mention the worst part. She's my husband's ex and since we all live in the same small town she still hangs around the family like she belongs there. Even when she isn't bothering me online she's talking about me to my mother and granmother-in-law. I wish she would just GO AWAY
