Breeding & Releasing

So I've been breeding all day. You know after a while once you breed a couple litters you get into the rhythm of releasing and such? Well I imported 8 imports from one kennel that I was wanting to move to another. So when I go to accept the bids, I go through about 5 of them before I realize that I'm releasing them instead of accepting. I just wasted so many of my own imports... /Fail.

 • Oh gosh that hurts!!

Today I bred my new PB imports for the first time. I took hours breeding, looking at them and releasing all but one male and one female of each pair. Then I went to name my highest female - a 7x4 and guess what I did??!! I hit the release instead of name and did not catch it - and released her. I was so scared I could not breed the import again. I went to look and saw she was young enough for one more breeding. I lucked out and got another 7x4 female!

 • I think sooner or later everyone does something like that. When it happens, you sit there stunned and oh so very disappointed. My worst 'mistake' that still bothers me was one of my first top dog Standard Poodles - I turned her one time too many and went to event her; she was not there. I checked to see where she was and she was in K9 Heaven. I no longer test the age of any dog - I always stop at 1 week past the standard age. That was over a year ago and it still bothers me. LOL we do get into our game. don't we??!!

 • Haha, I have a love hate with breeding, mostly hate it! I'v gotten half way through my APBT lines before and stupidly released the dog I needed to breed with >.< so had to start the whole line again T.T. Done that more that once with my APBT lines ;F

I also have prombles with getting more females over males, which is a pain in the but D:.
