Training Prices

edited January 2013 in General Discussion
Has the price of training on vp gone up? I swear everything used to be cheaper! There were some training that charged a bit more then mst but know it's like everyone charging a lot. I used to be able to get skill and stat maxes for like 50k and now there like 200k each. Same thing with grooming a lot of people used to have it for like 25k per year and there were even some with 10k per year! Now it's mostly 50-100k per year. Anyone else notice that?

  • Erm, Training always used to be that high, the lowest I'v see for skill/stat maxes is 100k
and 50k per year for grooming is cheap, I would take that any day, grooming used to be 100-150k per year.

If prices are going up thats a good thing in my mind for trainers, I would train for 50-100k per year than waste my time for only 25k per year.

I'm not sure about most people but some must forget it takes a trainers time to train someone esles dog, spec when we are doing our own lines as well.

  • AS I trainer myself I know how it's hard to fit other peoples dogs in too. Maybe it's just me then but I can remember atleast 5 trainers that had low prices. Maybe it was just those 5 though
  • Mac I'd be happy to train cheap for you :) just send me a message and I don't mind <3 you share a training kennel with me so you should just ask lol... I don't think training prices have gone up, although my grooming is like 50K per year, but that's in with the whole 50K being cheap thing. But my skill/Stat max prices are quite high, because I don't like doing them lol

  • Thanks flame :) And I don't mind paying the high prices I just noticed thing seemed to go up for me
  • I charge 150k for a skill AND stat maxx, still. xD The only thing that's gone up are my LG and RH prices, which are 50k a year, but I drop it down to 30k a year when asked, either one I think is MORE then reasonable. I dislike training for other people because it's time that I could be using on a line I'm trying very hard to complete and need all the time I can get on ya know? AND it definitely isn't a -fun- thing to be doing. Training is work, VP wise, nobody wants to work for cheap. xD I see what you are saying though, I used to get my skill/stat max and RP trainings for just 50k PER DOG. -_-

The trick to saving VPC is to do it yourself! -TEE HEE. :p
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • I train cheap... but I pretty much only charge what I need. The main reason I have a training kennel is for my own dogs, so I offer training to the public to help out and just charge enough to stay in business :)

Training is closed temporarily, but if you ever want cheap training (I charge about 10 times less than most...) just message Big Bully Bryson

  • Ivy I guess it really depends on what you want. I don't really need millions and millions of vpc and I like being able to train for everybody even people that don't have 200k to spare for one dog... So I just charge enough to make a profit

If you feel like you are spending your time incorrectly / not making enough VPC for your efforts then I would say to change your prices. I offer all types of training, and in the opinion of many others my training is worth it, although not the very cheapest on the game. Like mentioned before, you don't want to feel like you're wasting your time and not getting enough pay out of what you're doing. Especially when training is, in most cases, such a long and boring task.
