Lines

edited December 2012 in Vent
So, I have a line of Samoyed's, which I've been working on for quite some time now.

Why am I posting in the Vent Section, you ask? Well... VP Lines are very frustrating! I spend a lot of time and VPC training them, 12+ year grooms, and the last Hyper stat will NOT go up.

For example, one of my pups had a 95.9 Birth Stat of Loyalty, and I trained her up. By the time I was done, her hyper was at 216. I bred her with a pup of relatively close birth stats (96 Hyper, also having 216+ hyper when grooming was done) and out of over 40 pups, the HIGHEST I got was a 95.8.

With my lines, it feels like I'm always taking 1 step forward, then 2 steps back. I find it absolutely frustrating and... pointless. I'm considering giving up on my line, but don't want all my hard work and VPC to have been wasted on nothing.

If anybody has any advice, PLEASE reply or p.m me. I'm probably making too big of a deal about this, but it's stressful! I train and train and train, then when breeding comes (And believe me, I breed A LOT. I'm talkin around 50 pups every time) the highest stat ends up lower than the parents!

Sorry about my little rant. xD You're probably laughing at me right now. But I'm not kidding... It's stressful and frustrating. .__. Did I just choose a difficult breed? .__.

I had the same issue you're having when I was working on phantom wolves, I've but them on hold to work on other lines and they are sitting at 8x4. Their friendly and hyper are a nightmare. Hyper for a lot of breeds is the trouble stat. What I did with my phantoms was started another line from imports (I line breed) and got them to about the same point as the others that were not moving. Then bred them together to and continued line breeding. Their stats did start to go up again but are once again stuck. I recall a thread that said some breeds are just stubborn and hard to work with but there's nothing written in the code to prevent any breed from reaching 10x4. Some breeds just require a ton of work.
 • Ugh. I figured they'd be a little bit easier than that. xD Thank you, Para! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one frustrated by this. I've been stuck in the 95 Hyper Zone for a couple generations now, and I don't like it... Lol.

 • Yep sounds a lot like my phantoms, I've gotten them to around 98 birth hyper but they aren't budging. Once I get back to them I'll most likely start a new import branch and integrate it into my current line and then line breed from there again and see if it improves. Adding new blood into the lines is the only thing I really know to do.
 • Ah! That seems like so much work. xD

 • I remember when I was playing that old dogs, before they changed the way the stats came out for breed, would cause for the line to get really stuck. I think using fresh new imports that were imported recently may help you. I reached 10x4s on some breeds that needed new imports. As someone said, some breeds are finicky. I wish you luck =)
