So long story short - life sucks so I am doing my best to change things about it to be better. This is resulting in a possible mission from Helsinki (Finland) to Prague (Czech rep) for two weeks over Christmas, ... alone. Plan was to stop off at a city in Germany where I used to live for Christmas day.. All this will be by train! And I'll be stopping off at places along the way - Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen to name a few places lol.

But to be a true tourist I need to get myself a nice camera that I can take photos of all the snow and pretty things I hope to see along the way. Although this question has been asked like a billion times on here, but I need advise/recommendations/reviews on which camera to get! I could use my dad's dSLR but I would be mortified if I lost it/broke it/had it stolen whilst on my travels.

So I am welcome to suggestions, whether it be for just the typical point and shoot or an actual dSLR. I will admit now I am a right n00b at photography so will not be looking to spending millions on 20 different lenses and the camera itself. I'd like it to be good for landscapes as I'm going to be in Scandinavia to start off with so going to be lovely snow scenes and views out over the water as I get a ferry from Turku (Finland) to Stockholm (Sweden). Hopefully the sea won't be too rough! And obviously going to want to get some pictures of buildings/statues - typical tourist rubbish! Hahaa!

All in all I will have at most £400 to spend which at the moment is about $600 for everything. XD If I could spend less that would be awesome!
