Having more than 20 dogs is a sponsor perk. If the owners upped the amount of dogs novices got then there would be less of a perk for novices. Twenty is plenty of dogs for novices in my opinion. It cuts down on the amounts of litters they can have (which is sometimes a good thing) but still lets them be able to HAVE litters with enough room for studs and broods and MAYBE showdogs.
Oh okay. I was thinking like Novices that have been on for a certain amount of days, could have more dogs and like there could be a test that we could go threw. And if the test passes we can have more then another amount of days and take another test etc etc.
but see thats not fair to sponsors whom had to pay to get unlimited dogs. The game owners need that money or else this game isnt going to improve at all. If they start giving away sponsor perks to people for nothing than this game might as well be shut down because there will be no way admin1 and admin2 can work on it.
While I think a test would be nice just to help new players learn about the game, part of the reason novices are limited like they are is to encourage them to upgrade. The game needs money to continue operating and part of the perks for paying to play is you get unlimited turns and dogs. If novices could earn the same without ever paying a dime to play, the game would quickly be shut down for lack of funds.

Twenty dogs is enough, as Vampire said to allow a novice to use their limited breedings if they want, to show some dogs, etc. Enough to get a taste for what the game is like and whether or not they like it. If they like it, the limitations help encourage them to buy a sponsor.
