So I haven't been on virtualpups in forever, but I thought I'd share with you guys our newest addition to the family. To give a little background information my younger sister has autism. It isn't severe and she has come a very long way in the past few years. She can be in a normal class now, she's going to be going into second grade, and she is just the sweetest little girl. Most people can't even really tell anything is wrong with her now except for when she stumbles over certain words like "what" or "where." She can't really grasp the concept of their meanings. I bring this up because we were looking for a dog that could be a therapy dog for her. We also have allergies in the family pretty severely and we’ve never had a large dog so we narrowed it down to a few breeds. Luckily we came across Australian Labradoodles. You might wonder what the heck that is and what makes them different from plain Labradoodles so I’ll explain. An Australian Labradoodle is multigenerational while Labradoodles are usually just a direct cross of a Labrador and a Poodle. These are called F1 Labradoodles and they still shed which made that not work for my family. The next cross is an F1b which is when you cross a F1 Labradoodle with a Poodle so the coat becomes even less shedding. With Australian Labradoodles this has been done numerous times to get a multigenerational low to non-shedding dog. The lines even have infusions of other breeds such as Cocker Spaniels in them once in a while. Not to mention with the combined smarts and loyalty of Poodles and Labradors we couldn’t go wrong with the breed. So we found a reputable breeder, the breeders of Australian Labradoodles really regulate the breed and make it almost impossible for people to get ahold of one intact, and they are all really well socialized. So in the end we found this little guy. My sister named him Scout and it always makes me think of him as our little boyscout. He's a minature and will get about 20 pounds and 14 inches tall.

He's the one with the red collar.
1 Week: http://i47.tinypic.com/2uojuvk.png
2 Weeks: http://i47.tinypic.com/2mybwj9.png
4 Weeks: http://i48.tinypic.com/27yzywh.png
5 Weeks: http://i49.tinypic.com/20gxqgo.png
6 Weeks: http://i45.tinypic.com/2w7juaq.png
7 Weeks: http://i47.tinypic.com/2lnkfbb.png & http://i45.tinypic.com/2aij3iw.png

Around eight weeks the puppies families are already selected and they begin to start going home from then on. He's about 14 weeks now I believe, maybe about 15. I just have most of them on my phone. I also have the cutest video of him trying to get the Petsmart birds behind the glass. He's just the sweetest little character with an amazing disposition. He will let anyone pet him and won't try to bite or get in their face whether it is an old person or a young child. He learned to sit days after getting him and he knows to go straight to his crate when you say "crate up." He hasn't had an accident except twice in the house and for the past two weeks he has been swimming in our pool like a fish with us. If anyone is curious to what his dad or mom looks like I can post pictures too. I met his mom on site and she was just adorable. His dad was a donor and lives in California so I wasn't able to meet him in person.

He's our little angel!

Taken a couple days ago and I think he had just drank some water cause the fur under his mouth is wet.
Great name!! My soul dogs name is Scout and she means the world to me! Plus im a sucker for anything with Aussie in it! Plus i had a mini aussie! Super loyal!
Thanks, guys!

His paws are pretty fluffy. Most people let the hair grow out and cut it so that the legs look really stocky and like a teddy bear. The only problem with his fur is that it grows long between his paw pads and it has to be trimmed.

Scout is the perfet name I think too. My sister picked it out herself and she wouldn't budge despite my mom and me wanting to name him Simba because he jumps in and out of tall grass like a little lion cub! Mini Aussies are so cute! Despite his name "Australian Labradoodle" the only thing Australian about them is that they originated there because a doctor I believe wanted to breed a low to non-shedding dog that could also be a seeing eye dog for his blind wife. They really are a loyal breed. I love that they come in all sizes and colors too.
