Erm...reality check?

So I'm kind of laughing as I'm writing this but whatever lol I've done a little vent like this before so here goes nothing... I noticed a few arguments happening on VP about this player owning that dog and not taking care of it...or this player has all terrible dogs and they're suffering...etc. etc. etc. This isn't just happening on the forums, it's also in-game. I've gotten plenty of messages about 'not taking care of my dogs'. Um...hate to burst your bubble and all but they aren't real dogs. They're VIRTUAL. It isn't possible for them to 'suffer' or 'not be taken care of'. I just found it kind of funny that there was so much concern about dogs that aren't living. /end weird vent

Have had the same thought myself lol. I usually keep my vp dogs in good health, mood, grooming etc but even if I didn't they aren't real dogs. I know a lot of people don't like when dogs are released/retired as they are being killed, but like you said these are virtual dogs. I do thing on vp I wouldn't do in real life with real dogs like inbreed and release puppies I don't need. This is a game, its for fun and passing time, its not real life

They aren't killed, released dogs go to Kayninica A distant planet ruled by our wonderful dogs who live very happy :P and retired dogs go to the retirement palace K9 Heaven

That's true Ori but I've seen a lot of players complain about the "killing" of the pups on vp lol. I've been PM'd about my releasing dogs before stating I was killing them. I just shrugged it off and went about my merry way 8)

I agree to some extent because I have had people (mostly new players that have NO clue about imports) message me saying I am ruining VP by breeding low statted dogs together and making pups. For one, my dogs are groomed until 10.6.0 (because they "pass on" at 11.0.0) and then bred. I use the two best pups out of the litter they have and release the lower statted pups, so my computer loads my kennel faster. That honestly gets on my absolute last nerve. But at the same time, there are players who have no concept of breeding trained dogs to other trained dogs. (I am aware that there is a Sponsor who is doing an experiment to see if there is a glitch in breeding) But there are people who have NO clue what they are doing and breed untrained dogs and then those dogs are left here for unknown reasons and then they slow down the server and are left untouched. Those are the dogs that many people are trying to "clean up" on VP. While saying that however, I do understand that these dogs are NOT real and can NOT suffer by being bred untrained or left alone, I just fined it annoying to see pups that are low statted and did not have to be that way.
