Trigger for a trumpet...?

My brother is starting band this year and he will be playing trumpet. His trumpet that we have does not have a trigger on it though, so since I play clarinet I sadly don't know that much about brass instruments. So I was wondering can a trigger be bought for a trumpet without having to buy a brand new trumpet? If so how much would a trigger cost... Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you.

    I play trumpet! Bahaha,I'm kinda a band geek. Anyway, s the trumpet your own or is it a rental? I don't think I've ever actually heard of a trumpet coming without a trigger, generally I thought they came with them but of course, I could be wrong. I'm sure it wouldn't cost that much but if it's a rental, it really isn't your job to get the piece anyway, especially if it's through school. You know what I mean? Or at least that's what I would think. If it is a rental,I would recommend talking to the people you rented from first. On the other From what I just researched, it does seem like its possible to buy just the trigger piece.

    It's his personal instrument. I have emailed our normal music store and I'm about to check my email to see if I've heard back from them. (No worries, I'm a HUGE band geek myself. haha) Yes I know what you mean... :mrgreen:
