I think it would be nice for Grand Master Handlers to have a robot, to take care of all of the dogs per turn. So we can event more and take care of the dogs less!
It would require extensive coding for the game to self-train a dog. You're talking about all the various options the game would have to differentiate between. Some players like their dogs to be groomed 1-5 times + played with each turn. Some prefer to just play or just groom. Some people don't even bother to groom or play.

You've also got to consider how it would work out for sponsors. On some of mine, I've got 100 in the handling skill + 100 in whatever the specialty is (i.e., business). How would the game be able to tell the difference? The title might be different, but the amount in the skill is still present, so it would confuse the game. Just like you could have 100 in the training skill and 100 in the business skill. You could have the business skill as your title, but you would still be a grand master trainer behind the scenes.

It's not that difficult to mess with them yourself. If you've got a browser that has the ability for multiple tabs, you could even shorten your load by having each dog in its own tab, so you can more easily access them per turn. If you don't want to take care of them yourself, you could hire someone else to show them for you or just not care for them per turn. You always have the option of not showing as well, if it's really a significant hassle.
