Mkay, so for ya'll who don't know a little bit of the reason as to why i got Rosie in the first place here it is. Well, when i was ten, i kind of attempted to teach myself to ride on my greenbroke mustang (parents refused lessons) and i would hop on him bareback and go running around the pasture. I did this for MONTHS and i was previously scared to lope because my gelding is an attitude bucket and liked to buck at a lope. Well a few Christmas' ago my oldEST brother came home for the holidays and he, my oldER brother and me took our horses are were riding on some trails and they decided to race and i decided okay since i "Knew" how to ride. Well, long story short it had just rained and my gelding slipped and i ended up bed ridden the entire school holiday period. Well, i wasnt 100% when i went back to school and at basketball practice my coach said i needed to go to the doctor because i was extremely off. So we did and i found out i had back problems. Couldn't do basketball anymore and ended up having back surgery when i was 14 years old. It took my back a year to heal and a year off of horses completely. When i started riding again i was put on my brothers bombproof paint whom doesnt have a mean bone in her body named Tawny.

Fast forward to a year ago

I've taken Tawny from a mare who didn't know how to lope unless forced into it and now we did shows. Horsemanship, Team Penning, she knew verticle movements and neck reining and leads and all that good stuff. I was going into my third year with showing her (having placed up to fourth in statewide competition) and my brother tells me he's taking tawny back. Just ripping her out rom under me now that she's trained. So i've gotta search for a new horse to use and the kicker is I have to pay for it. Not complaining that i've gotta pay.. its just i was broke xD So i work my butt off to get enough money to convince my dad t let me get a horse of my OWN (my brother and i had issues over what was best for Tawny ALL the time). I finally had enough and started looking for horses that were broke enough to ride like i needed em to be and not too expensive because i was on a budget. Plus they had to be close enough that we could pick it up. I was VERY specific in what i wanted too so i was a little bit stuck i what i wanted. An AQHA mare that knew how to do a flying lead change under 2000. Tall order for so cheap xD however i ended up finding one... i was going to see her the next day when the owner texted me and said he had already sold her. So i went looking AGAIN. and found the horse that would soon be my Rosie xD. I called the owner and she was my age. She agreed to hold on to her and not sell her until i got to come out and see her. She kept her word and i went out to see Rosie. She was a LIVING terror!! Tried to take off with me quite alot and i had a deathgrip on her mouth to keep her in a walk which always turned into a trot which in three strides was a lope. We ended up running out of the arena unplanned and around the pasture.... but i liked her. I didn't feel like she was being bad... she was confused by my cues as much as i was confused about how she was responding to them. I ended up taking Rosie home on a two month lease period where if i wanted her at the end i would send the rest of the money and they would send the papers. For a while we figured some things out, and i told the old owner i was pretty sure i was gonna take her then we hit a spot we just couldn't get over and i didn't see how i would get this mare where i had Tawny in the time frame i had so i made the decision to send her back... little did i know the old owner thought id meant id positively taken her and had already spent the money we had made the lease with. I had planned on using Rosie strictly as a broodmare after that. I didn't like riding her AT ALL but she's got great confo, is super sweet, a great color, and is overall amazing. I didn't like watching her waste away in the pasture so until i planned on breeding her i was gonna go ahead and ride her. We started clicking then and so she never got bred and i still ride her every day.

Fast Forward to now.

Now, a little less than a year later i get on this mare bareback with a halter and we run around bareback. I can do things with her i couldn't do with Tawny. She's a monster at team penning yet i can slow her down into the slowest of jogs. She doesn't try to take off and she can outstop me which im still learning to sit in. Suprised i havent come off her yet due to her stopping so fast. We've been working on reining patterns. We're stuck on perfecting out spins yet we decided to sign up for this years rodeo contest anyways for the practice. I've been sweating those spins! I got my pattern yesterday and.. NO SPINS! The pattern plays out PERFECTLY for her! No spins, rollbacks are set up the way she likes em, theres a stop after her fast circles so she wouldnt work herself up, no trotting in the pattern unless i choose. I actually feel like we have a chance to WIN now! We're now at polishing when i expected to come home and spin spin spin until a week before the contest then get as much polishing as i could done but we could have a perfect pattern now!!!!!

!!!!! Ive been elated ever since i found out! This contest is angling itself to where everything has been going perfectly the way i need it too xD
