So I got the newspaper yesterday morning, checked the comics, tv guide, zodiacs, pets.. then jobs.
There was a small, simple add for 2 stablehands. I was like, WEEEEE. Something I know how to do.. I'm guessing 8+ years of cleaning stables, doing feeds and waters etc counts as experience. ;D

I had a trial yesterday afternoon, loved it. Although I've never worked with Thoroughbreds before, let alone a Racing/Training TB stable! All the current horses that are in work are really good. You just grab the rake and bucket, walk in, do what you gotta do, and they just watch you. Some may follow, some just watch. There is one in particular that just loves turning his butt to you for a scratch.. which originally freaked me out, but he won't hurt me.
8)

I went in this morning as well (6am start, woo!) and discovered my favourite horse. She's a she, and I don't know her name, because it isn't written on the board on her door. I will find out though. She made me smile as I was cleaning her stable. Kept following me around, wanting a scratch, and I decided she was telling me to stop working and pat her instead. xD

Anyway,that's what made my morning..

My mum and stepdad still can't believe I work as a stablehand at a TB stud, when I lived with them for years and didn't have much to do with cleaning stables.. I don't get it either, maybe it's the money factor. Or that Arabians are more flighty compared to TB's. Not sure. ;D
