As some of my friends know, I went out and test rode a horse today. His name is Star and he's a 14.1 hh QH/Morgan cross gelding. Short and stocky! I've gone ahead and leased the beauty because he's a fun guy and his owner is amazing. Star rides western mainly which isn't as bad as I thought. [I'm a previous English rider. ;)] I thought for sure the horn would be evil for mounting/dismounting, and I was pleasantly surprised when it was easier than my previous close contact hunter saddle. <br><br>He's a bit smaller than I'm used to but I hope the next few months with him will be a blast nonetheless! I definitely need this lease to escape life right now.     He is a beautiful horse. I actually like short horses (because I am tiny and they are easier to mount for me), but he does not look as tiny as the horse I rode yesterday.

    Yeah, he looks rather large in the pictures but he's so short! He's plump though so maybe that's why he looks bigger than he is. :P <br><br>I was so amazed at his color when I saw him. Most people out here seem to have nothing but plain bays or chestnuts. I was expecting him to be an 'average' looking horse. Not that I don't like normal colors, but flashy ones catch my eye. One of his pasture mates is an Arab cross that seriously reminds me of Black Beauty though. I have a thing for buckskins and jet blacks with white stars. XD <br><br>Hopefully my work schedule and the weather allow for me to go out there this week. The winds are killer right now though. I guess we'll see if the weather decides to behave for me.
