Best Movies of 2011?

I've been watching many many movies lately with apprehension because I hate movies with boring story lines. It took me 5 months to watch "Warrrior" because I was afraid it wouldn't stand up to "The Fighter" but thank goodness it was awesome. But I wanted to know what are other people favorite movies are or what their looking forward to in 2012.

Warning, due to me rambling about the movies I've seen this post will contain spoilers.

My list for best movies in 2011

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011 English version, I loved this movie so much. Makes me want to do investigation work. )

The Devils Double (I feel in love with Dominic Cooper in this film, I thought it was two different people playing the role's of Uday Hussein and his double Latif Yahia. I love love love Dominic Cooper now. *swoons* )

The Fighter (anything with Christen Bale is gold to me)

Warrior (fight scenes were amazing, I loved the drama and last fight)

Immortals (I was excited to see Joseph Morgan play in this movie aka Klaus for VD, but then I had to see what he went through made me sad, because I love him so much, I loved it because it was a Greek God movie, I don't know why but I love everything that has to do with Greek Mythology. Also because super gorgeousness Kellan Lutz was in it *Swoons*)

In Time ( the idea of time being a currency and meaning you could live forever intrigued me. I kinda don't like Amanda Seyfried now just because she dated Dominic Cooper)

Movies I hated in 2011

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 (The acting made me cringe with horror. I mean did you see the part where the wolves were talking to each other? It was horrible I hated the way the voice sounds. Kristen Stewards acting has gotten no better, I feel bad for all the decent actors that have to work with her in the future. The part were broke her back made me laugh. I did not feel one ounce of remorse when she died, to me that was the best part of the movie. I'm tired of hearing Edwards crying and Jacob's whining on why Bella didn't choose him. For one she's a idiot and playing with both of them. I understand what Leah was saying he needs to move on from her, please do. I think they rushed through filming this movie. I have a feeling the next one will be a drag. The movie does not excite me in anyway how they brought the characters to the big screen. I want the hours that I watched on this movie back. I am going to be completely honest they need to remake this movie, very soon with all new characters. First of all you don't even get the feel for other characters because they're all bland and is in the back of the story. I hate Kristen Steward and the Twilight movies even more. I will stick to the books for now on.)

Movies I can't wait to see in 2012

The Avengers

The Dark Knight Rises

The Hunger Games (never read the books, but I have a feeling I will be reading them soon)

Anything with Leonardo Dicaprio in it

Anything with Liam Neeson in it

Anything with Dominic Cooper in it (swoons)

Anything with Helena Bonham Carter in it

Anything with Johnny Depp in it

So that was my best list and it is short, and most of the movies are more angled toward people who can watch rated R movies, legally. But do you guys have any favorite movies of 2011 of upcoming movies in 2012 that you want to see? I need more things to watch.

 • if you havent already watch the girl with the dragon tattoo, who played with fire, and who kicked the hornets nest Swedish version, with swedish subtitles (the english dubbing is bad, its my bfs pet hate so we watch most things with subs) they are actually better than the english version. I've also read the first two books and they are a great read...

hmm.. 2011 movies... there werent many good ones.

Unknown - Liam Neeson :D

The Adventures of Tin Tin was absolutely AMAZING!!!

127 Hours was good.. kinda gruesome at some bits (which i hid from)

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2

I liked Super 8

The Kings Speech was great... ♥ Colin Firth

Source Code was interesting

I wanted to watch Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.. havent seen that yet

Black Swan was a great great great film

I just went through 50 best films and they are the ones I liked from that list :D

 • I loved Black Swan. I usually feel smarter because I understand it when others don't. But with Source Code I did not understand the ending one bit. Did they even wake him up to do the "Source Code or was he still sleeping. I don't understand it, but I do like twisted endings. I've heard many great things about the King Speech and Helena Bonham Carter is in it. I'l probably love the film, it's just when will I sit down and watch it.

 • I wasn't too keen on the idea of the kings speech but when I watched it I was blown away.

I saw that last week and it was terrible, imo. The ending was horrible and I couldn't accept the way they were portraying wolves in general. (I only saw it because I had to take my brother there, so I stupidly agreed to give it a shot.) I saw The Chronicle this week and it was decent. I liked all the twists they put in, and while the style of directing is usually not my thing (first person/the actors are 'holding' the camera), it was better than I expected.

 • Not exactly sure whether or not these movies are 2011 or 2012, but it's around there.. XD

War Horse was terrific, little slow and long, but overall I really enjoyed it. Spielburg did a great job with the violence factor, you knew it was happening, but never really saw anything really graphic.

Abduction- I really wasn't impressed with this movie, the whole time I was like "Okay. So the CIA is bad? Or is it those other guys?" Ended poorly in my opinion, as well.

I Am Number Four- Believe it or not, this came out in 2011, had to look it up, though. This movie impressed me, if I remember enough.

Gnomeo and Juliet- Yeah, I know.. XD I saw it, though.. It was (as my mom puts it) "Cute."

We Bought A Zoo- I'm just gonna say that I expected this to be medicore or even horrible, but it proved me wrong. It was serious, but had some funny parts.

 • I've heard a rumor that they weren't making a sequel to I am Number Four. Which sucks. I've just recently seen a trailer from a movie called The Woman in black with Daniel Radcliffe in it aka Harry Potter. I really want to see this because I want to see him play a different role but the trailer scared me to no end, and I promised myself I would never see this movie. One reason it being a ghost story, and that is 1 out 2 of my biggest fears. The second being aliens. But me being so gullible, I'll go see it anyway. So goodbye sleep.

I wanted to The Grey, but I was so confused I didn't know what it was about. I just knew Liam Neeson was in it. To me the man is action movie gold. One of my favorite movies is Taken, gotta love that movie.

I loved HP7 pt 2. Except when Bellatrix dies, but oh well. I liked how Harry Potter ended the lives of it characters and that was the end of it. Most movies don't do that.

And Abduction made me so mad, I hate movies where theirs a girl that the guy hardly talks to. And they get in a situation and the boy just like ''I can't leave you behind". If it were me, the person would be dropped off somewhere.

 • Kinda obvious that they'd want to do a sequel of I Am Number Four. They set it up at the end for a sequel if you didn't catch that xD. It was a matter of time for that.

I went and saw Breaking Dawn and dragged Shay along with me. I saw the other movies because I read the books and I knew it was going to be bad but it still entertained me. The birthing scene was just.. obnoxious filming. The camera swung around too much and was making me nauseous. They tried to make it gory without making it too bad for their younger viewers. I also didn't like the wolves much when they were talking. Just seemed.. weird. But seeing it because it was bad was fun and Shay and I had an awesome date night. (we cut in line cause we saw her friends there x3 was too cold out)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo- That is a tough movie to watch if you haven't read the book. I had so I had no problem (I was also in an empty theater o.0 was only me). But yeah if you haven't read the books it seems like it'd be hard to follow and the accents were hard for me to understand at first.

The Help- I liked this movie a lot xD I found it funny and a little different than what was currently out. I enjoy the sass xD hehe

Oh gosh, my 11 and 8 year old sisters were going to watch this Friday night but I convinced them not to because I was told it was (gulps) gruesome...And I know the story of what happened to that guy. Horribleness ick. But the guy is kinda hot(; Love him.

Luh-ved ittt!!!!

I liked Super 8

I loved this one toooo! Joe is soooo cute(; And he looks JUST LIKE my friend Brandon(;

My List:

Rise of The Planet of The Apes - It was ok. It was terrifying for me since I am scared of chimpanzees

Cowboys and Aliens - I thought it was going to be stupid but I ended up loving it. and Daniel Craig is hott

Courageous - Acting -sucked- but it was a great story and I cried...alot

I Am Number Four - I think someone already mentioned it but yeahh.

Your are DEFINITLEY never too old for Winnie the Pooh! I didn't get to go see it  When I was little, I used to say Christopher Robin was my boyfriend  And at my dentist, they were showing old Winnie the Pooh movies (I go to the same dentist as my little sisters =P) and I was like "Heck yes! Winnie the Pooh!" The teeth-brusher lady looked at me kinda weird
