Puppy Noises

edited January 2012 in General Discussion
Anyone else ever make puppy noises to see how your dog would react? xD<br><br>This morning I woke up with Laru pawing at me, leash in her mouth, ready to go for her six in the morning walk. I really didn't feel like getting up. I started making loud puppy whining noises. xD I dunno why, I just felt like whining. Her ears perked up and she dropped her leash to stare at me in awe. I kept making the noises and she freaked out, jumping onto my bed and whining loudly back at me. Then, she decided that the best thing to do in this situation was to lie on my face. -_- She just walked up, sniffed my face, then had a seat on it. I almost suffocated. She didn't move until I stopped whining and said (in a muffled voice) "I'm ready to go for a walk now." After which she got off my face, jumped off the bed, picked up her leash, and placed that on my face instead. I'm thinking shes learned that noone can ignore something being plopped down on their face. -_- Hopefully it doesn't become a habit of hers. My smart girl.

  • My dog Scout goes into false pregnancies. She tried to nurse a baby bunny once and when she has a false pregnancy she makes nests of little stuffed animals. One time i put her favorite baby rhino on my computer speakers and found baby puppy noises online and she went still and came and gt her rhino and "Nursed" him.
  • xD thats so funny!

    I <3 Keith Urban!
  • I just tried with Pookie. She looked up from her bed, all droopy eyed and looked at me like. <span style="font-style:italic">What's your problem?</span> She watched me for a few minutes more. The got up, walked in circles and adjusted herself so that her back was to me. -_- Real motherly, this one.

<br><br>Lala's been through one of those. She was even producing milk. We didn't have any stuffed animals as my dogs do aggressive play, and use ropes/tires as "toys", and stuffed animals would be annihilated within seconds. But I noticed that Laru was a little depressed at the lack of puppies, and would bring strange objects to her nest. Shoes, the Tv remote, my Rat Terrier. -_- So I took her to PetCo and did the normal routine of letting her grab toys, but this time I took her to the stuffed animals section. She was over joyed! She couldn't stop picking toys out and putting them in the basket. I ended up buying around ten puppy shaped, and duck shaped Teddy bear things. When we got home I couldn't open the bag fast enough, she was rushing me. I put all the toys on the floor and one by one she carried them back to her little den. I would often play puppy noises for her as well, and eventually she learned that if she came to my computer and stared at me (asked), I would put the noises on, then she would go back to her make shift litter and take care of her babies. After a while the preganancy was over though. And she distributed the "babies" to the rest of my dogs, who then tore the poor things to shreds. -_- Some mother she is...<br><br>@Frosty- That's hilarious! Total cold shoulder moment. She was thinking "Ugh, her and her weird moments."<br><br>xD

  • Emme makes really loud kinda like puppy noises when she sees agility.. Does that count? <span style="font-size:50">Ok, maybe a bit more like screeching to get in the ring..</span>

  • lol. When my dogs see competition they immediately start performing tricks, without me telling them to. They think their reward will be a chance to compete.
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • I wish, Emme screams.. Like some one is beating her.. with an awl.
    liglw.jpg
  • My dogs wouldn't dare scream or act inappropriately in any way. You know why? They fear my silent treatment!!!! xD

  • I can avert her attention, but we always try to arrive a half second before she needs to go into the ring. The golf cart helps xD

  • Oh me too! Usually because I want to keep the other dogs away from mine. No mingling with the competition, especially when half of them are poorly trained amateurs that shouldn't even be released yet, and don't know how to act at events. Why is it that whenever I make a thread me and you take over with an off topic conversation? Stop it! xD

  • I have Kayronnie!
    liglw.jpg
  • But is she shaped like a weiner? No! Come get them!!
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • NO! Those dogs are no good agility! Or any sport I like for that matter! You keep them and do dancing with them!
    liglw.jpg
  • Actually, ive seen Dachshunds do agility, herding, tracking, and theyre some of the best hunting dogs. And I have a bigger female that does fly ball... and wins. So put that in your juice box and suck it!! -_-
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • I know! But they aren't as fast or driven...
    liglw.jpg
  • Have you ever owned one. O.o A Dachshund competitor would never say that. Lady is my third fastest dog, and faster then any dog we've competed against in flyball. She loves her tennis ball so much she has more drive then any dog there. There are Dachshund races, like grey hound races, if they weren't fast dogs noone would set up races to see them run. -_- <br><br><span style="font-size:85">...perhaps I'm telling you all this to make you come GET THE PUPPIES!!! </span><br><br>Here pig pig pig. Suuuuuuuweeeeeee! Come get the puppies!!

  • .. Ok! Even though mamma says no more nanimals! Just ship them, my address is: 555 Drury Lane, or you can just fallow the muffin scent!
    liglw.jpg
  • YOU are the muffin man? I knew it oh, I knew it!!! Doesn't make sense since you are the worst baker I gave ever had the displeasure of meeting, but I knew it!

  • No no no, I only rent an apartment from him! Oh and I have a proposition for you! I'll take your puppies if you get me a Border Collie from out in Ohio. They don't cost that much considering you sell dogs for 10k, only like $1,500.
    liglw.jpg
  • Hah! I could get you a world champion Border Collie, or her puppies. -_-<br><br>But I'm not gonna basically pay you to take these mutts!
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • I want one form here! <a href="http://jandemellobordercollie.com/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://jandemellobordercollie.com/</a><br><br><br><br>Roonnie got bite today in puppy class D: then she started to ack dominant and agressive -.- the dog shouldn't be in the class do to it being mentally unstable and NOT A PUPPY.
    liglw.jpg
  • Wow. They sure think highly of themselves. THREE HUNDRED dollars just for the POSSIBILITY of getting a puppy? Ridiculous. I could understand if they were rare dogs, or if you couldn't get a BC that was just as good else where, but that's not the case. I can get better anyway, but if you want a dog from them, what can I say. -_- Do you really want me to contact the owner and set up some sort of deal? I am more then qualified to get one of their dogs, that isn't a problem, but they seem like they'd try to over price a dog and use their history as an excuse. I'd definitely let them know that I'm experienced, own my own kennel, and not an idiot. -_- Just say the word and I'll send an email.<br><br>Was she seriously bitten or just snapped at for sending bad signals and/or annoying the dog? Sometimes the adults will put the pups back in their place, without really causing harm, doesn't mean the dog is unstable. Dogs often communicate in ways that go unnoticed by their human companions, perhaps their was just a misunderstanding. Maybe your puppy was acting slightly dominant before the bite and that set the dog off, which in turn made your dog act out even more. Dominant signals can be sent without you noticing, just the way a dog looks at another dog, even for a second, can send a huge message. Or perhaps it was seriously unprovoked, and really did some damage, in which case that dog should switch to classes with dogs his age and size and get some proper socialization in.
