Asking for changes on banners

edited December 2011 in Vent
I don't know why, but one thing that really gets on my nerves is when I open up a banner commission, people order, and then when I work 2+ hours on their banner to make sure everything looks nice and right, they ask for it to be changed because they don't like something. I don't think lots of people understand that if you order a banner, you do it at your own risk that someone isn't going to make a "perfect" banner for you, and you can't expect the person to go back and change it. Some people do which is extremely thoughtful of them, but it's just more work on the person after they took time out of their day to make something for you.<br><br>It is so annoying to me when people are like that. Like, for example, someone asked for a kennel tag (that I had with a dog on it and then text under) with fancy writing and then bold writing. I used a fancy text and then an extended, bold font that I really liked. They asked me to change it because they didn't like it. Well, I guess that's something you have to deal with because I'm not making your tag AGAIN just because you don't like the font. You asked for a fancy script for one word and then a bold text for the next word. If you were so picky you should have gave me which fonts to use. BAHHHHHHH<br><br>JMO

  • I agree. This gets annoying. What I do is if someone asks, unless I don't have it saved to my computer anymore, then I'll redo it, but it is so annoying doing it over like you said. But if I order from another person I always just take what they give me and hold my tongue if its not to my likings 100%.

  • I sort of agree.. I try not to do it, but I have once or twice in the past, and I really hate to, because I realize they worked hard on it. It also holds up the lines.. Ever been behind somebody who keeps needing changes? Urgh. However, if I'm going to be expected to cough up over 1 mill for the banner, I'd really prefer it be to my liking.

  • i dont mind making changes to an order as long as its not like too many (like over 2 times changed) since they should know by then that its going to be fine, and I usually try to do it when they are online so i can keep the program open and change at will. But it does get annoying if like you said that someone says they dont like the font but then they dont specify thats quite annoying. I try to give as much detail as possible for someone thats making me a banner

  • I agree with Frosty. If its anything over 1 million in price i think you should be able to ask for one or two changes. If im gonna be spending THAT kind of money i expect to like what i paying for. If its nothin expensive then i prefer not to bother the maker over it.
  • I know! It is really annoying. I mainly do giveaways, hardly ever do commissions, so for me, it is extremely frustrating when someone asks for a change even if they aren't even paying. Also, it's always for the littlest details, too! It's like seriously, I really do not want to re do an entire banner just for one little change, especially if I have more people waiting for a banner, etc. It's like, really? This is free for you, so one little mistake isn't going to hurt. XD
