Welcome Back, Old Friend.. Welcome back.

edited December 2011 in Vent
And by welcome back, I mean go die in a hole.

Every single year around Christmas time I get this hacking cough that can last for months after the cold is gone. No medicine really stops it for long, maybe an hour or so if I'm lucky, just enough to get to sleep. Sometimes I cough so much that it makes me gag. Last night, it had me up on the hour. Last year, I didn't get it, so I was hoping I may have out grown it. But no. This year it is back with a vengeance. It isn't dry cough, either. I've coughed so much today alone that my throat is sore.

*End mini rant*

Anybody else get this, or have any medicines that actually work?

 • I get the same thing, I cough so much and so hard my sides ache, my throat hurts, and sometimes causes head aches. And I usually get it around Christmas too and it is really bad for a about a week and then it gets a better over time. A few times I've had to go to the doctors to get a breathing treatment and when I was there he prescribed me some cough syrup that helps. I think it 's called Codien or something like that.

 • Aw I hope you feel better Frost =/

When my grandmother gets a bad cough, she drinks tea (any flavor) and she puts a teaspoon of honey, and a teaspoon of apple cide vinegar in it. It helps her cough leave a lot faster, maybe it could help you too.
