Farriers. :(

I don't like my farrier. When he comes out to trim/file Pumpkin's feet, he takes five minutes. Five Minutes. That's it, five minutes. He doesn't take his time, he just gets his little pick knife thing, scrapes his feet out like two times, gets his file and clippers, and chop, chop. *Wham. He's done. He puts little time and effort into taking care of my horse's feet, who by the way has thrush, even though my dad pays him 40 bucks for each trim. I am switching farriers. D:

  • Farrier work doesnt take very long if the farrier has been at it for a while. Thrush has nothing to do with the farrier. It has to do with the horse standing in unsuitable conditions such as mud or in many cases its own waste (not saying yours was or is O-o) Doesnt sound like your farrier is doing anything wrong to me.
  • No... he doesn't do a proper job. Me stating he has thrush is in reference to him not doing anything about it (suggesting products, and stuff like that that a farrier should do.). He doesn't properly file, clip, or scrape his feet out because he doesn't take his time. The job isn't even done. I would like to say he does "half" of his feet, but that doesn't make sense. XD
