Training Terms?

Ok I have a few things I'm confused about. I've seen the terms slave training, long grooms and short grooms around the game and forum. What are these? What purpose are they/what do they do for the dog? <br><br> :?:

Long & Short Grooms are the length of grooming in years. Usually short grooms are 1-4 years, and long grooms are 4+ years. Some people ask for short grooms to get the dog's endurance to 200 so they can take over training (I'm one of these people). Long grooms are to boost the stats for breeding, usually grooming to 11.6 or 12 years old.<br><br>Slave training is someone offering to train a large number of dogs for a certain amount of cash.

Thank you for the reply Kazuko I had been wondering about these. Another question if you or someone else doesn't mind answering. When it comes to training if a dog is skill and stat maxed does it need anything else say short groom to have a good chance in event? I know training isn't everything when it comes to events, other factors still apply such as handling skill.

I'm not so sure these days with eventing (some changes have recently been made that I haven't figured out yet) but once a dog is stat maxxed and skill maxxed, a dog should be good to go. It does help to have a dog sit in boarding for a few years, however, as that boosts the adaptability and courage, which used to play a HUGE part in events.
