• I bet he's grown like a weed if he's almost a year old! Ro is going on 16 mo and i keep having people ask me who he is and when i tell them they cant BELIEVE he's as mature as he is. He almost looks grown!

he has! hes starting to get his muscles worked lol and awe you must upload new photos!!
kelsbanner.png
• He's very smoothy put together!!

really? im always curious as to what people think.. i found a lady who used to own his parents a long time ago and is into horses and ive asked her before what she thinks because i showed pictures from when we first got him and all she can really say is he has gotten big lol
kelsbanner.png
• well as a yearling he's at the stage thats usually considered the "yearling fuglies" because at times his front half hits a growth spurt before the back half and vice versa so conformation is REALLY difficult to give on such a young horse and a lot of allowances have to be made for the things they COULD grow out of. So i woulnt go into huge detail on him other that i REALLY like him. Like.. REALLY REALLY like him. The only thing im kind of iffy about is he looks like he has very tiny feet, which might or might not cause issues. My mare wears Triple aut shoes (smallest horse size) yet since her soles are so concave she's more likely to stay sounder longer than my other two. Apprently her soles are one of the only soles like that he's ever seen O-o
• yeah i understand what your saying, im very excited to see what he ends up looking like. what amazes me is his mane always stays on one side even without brushing it, he has no calics or anything and our other two horses manes go every which way. lol. and he could use a trim.. people keep getting busy and backing out that were going to do it for us. but thanks for liking him :) he is such a ham.

• I know the feeling! I had two farrier no shows in two months! Different farriers too! My poor thoroughbred was in pain. Luckily my new farrier now is cheaper and AMAZING! He explains everything he's doing to my horses to me and answers all my questions. He could tell me so much about my own horses, conformation wise and personality wise by just looking at their feet. I was amazed!!

I really like him! he looks like he's maturing beautifully! He really is! He's built like the kind of horses ima sucker for!
• thats neat that they can tell that much just from trimming their hooves! and im glad someone besides me has taking a liking to him :p
kelsbanner.png
• I think he's gorgeous! Believe it or not he's the color of my mare! Only my mare is a roan but thats pretty much her exact base color. Flaxen mane and non flaxen tail and everything!
• it doesnt show it well in the pics but his tail is almost 2 or even 3 colors lol.
kelsbanner.png
• That definitally sounds like my rose! I had to buy her a mixed sorrel fake tail and do some minor touchups with it even with it being mixed!
• haha yeah im like shesh mister stick to a color would ya.
kelsbanner.png
• The sorrels are always funny that way! My best friend has a strawberry roan with a coontail and i LOVE that horses coloring! But i love my horses confo better so i guess it all evens out! Until i see her grey riding mare whom naturally does flying lead changes and is absolutely STUNNING! I have to remind myself that ive already got more horses than i need haha
• I have to tell myself that on a regular basis xD i have all these horse classifieds on the "the book" if you know what i mean and i am always seeing ones i want and im like no kelsey no..you guys have three and its super dry here no more :P
kelsbanner.png
• Three is my number too! luckily ive about evened out. I dont WANT any more! Between retraining Rosie, handling Ro ALL THE TIME and keeping my TB in shape im beat! I always wanted those horses i trained whom could show with the big boys and i got the horses of my dreams. I honestly dont want anymore. I want to be with mine more though! My kids are wonderful and all they need is age, experience, and wet saddle pads which im always workin on putting on them. Once theyre completely finished then i might get some horses to train and sell but i dont think id want any more to keep (EXCEPT APPALOOSAS!!! I WILL HAVE ONE ONE DAY!!!)
• sometimes i would say take my appy!! haha he can be sooo stubborn and onry..but then i would prob be heartbroken without him..he was my first horse..got him for my 10th birthday :) its funny because where we live people are always stopping and asking to bet him saying they have never seen one like him and of course..he plays off mister nicey nicey and all lovey dovey..

and oo do you train for the public then? when i finish up my gen eds im thinking on taking some equestrian related classses.
kelsbanner.png
• I love stubborn ornery horses! Apparently thats an appy trait! Along with bad hair genes and spots! My first horse was the SAME way. Hateful, ornery, terrible. But i love my big fat butt too! He's a 16.3 mustang/walker/draft cross. He'd fling you up in a heartbeat if he didnt get his way and there is NO way to sit his bucks. He's worse than a bronc but he's such a lover in the pasture. He's also hard to lead, terrible to unload, will not bathe, is terribly herdbound and everything else you can think of.

I dont train for the public. Too much pressure with it. I like to spend my time getting my girls perfect. Actually im workin on getting an apprenticeship with some big name reiners right now
• he has horrible hair! ha his mane is just eww.. his tail isn't to bad right now anyways and his spots are just weird lol i actually found a "baby" picture of him the other day and it was such a drastic change..and he to is hard to lead horrible to load etc etc, but he was broke at 8yrs old and didnt once nor has ever bucked or anything (knock on wood) lol hes such a fatty and just wants to walk and lightly trot around..any pics of your first horse??

and ooo i remember you talking about reinging.. i am still undecided on what to do!..i love watching this one woman online who does reining bareback and bridleless its amazing.
kelsbanner.png
• You mean stacy westfall? She is quite amazing! Its soo sad Roxy AND Vaquero both had to be put down though.

Oh lord! Ill have to go find one of the fat boy!

Yes her!!! i wish i could be at that point someday and have a horse i could do that with!! (keeps dreaming).
and aweee what a handsome boy!!
kelsbanner.png
• Apparently he has stunning conformation hidden under all that flubber of his xD

I think she's amazing! I love riding bareback but i am in NO WAY gonna try a reining pattern that way! Didju know she lost both her world champion bridless/bareback horses this year within a few months? The black mare Roxy got cast in her stall and hurt herself beyond fixing and somewhere around two months later Vaquero her gelding got a bone growth in his spinal cord that wasnt fixable. He was almost to the point where he would fall over and couldnt keep his feet under him. He was very young too. I believe she said he was six or so. Definitally less than ten.
• oh wow, i did not know that.. i haven't watched the videos here for a while. that is so sad.
