My paint is great at red light green light because she's so slow. Oddly enough she was good at long trot races because i could move her out faster than other riders could move out and wed clear the two people in front of us and have a nice open space behind us and the riders chasing us always broke gait trying to catch tawny even though she's a snail.... funny thing is her mom is a world class 1D competing barrel horse and her dad is a very good cutter... and she's a snail...
*sigh* don't you love those horses? At a camp I went to they had a beautiful roan something or anther school horse. He would NOT move! Once I had to tap him in the bum with the crop(very lightly) just to get him to start walking -.- everyone hatting having to rid him and it wasn't like he was very old, he was actually pretty young.
Haha! My painty is really quick to respond to me but no so quick for others. She senses how well a rider is balanced and goes from there. Her legal owner, my 9 year old neice can lope her around to her hearts content but i had a 18 year old girl (whom does ride but she's not all that good with her seat) and tawny refused to lope with her. Poor baby did a five minute fast drill trying to keep up with loping horses at a trot. Trys her heart out. <br><br>My roan on the other hand... x.X lets just say she's an ex barrel racer and if i dont trail ride her every week she gets into a pushy brat x.X
No no. Emily at drill? Ashlyns friend? I was gonna let her ride Tawny for the rodeo since Trapper is like.. 25 and she's too big for his old self and since i wasnt gonna be able to make the Rodeo. She was too scared of how willing Tawny was so she held into her mouth and slammed into her back D; my poor baby. They thought i had worked her before i let her ride because of how badly she sweat after the run and i got on her and one smooch and she did everything i asked. Hence it was determined that it wasnt Tawny acting badly. Course we all know Tawny would never do anything like that. She's too sweet even if she does like to glare at me and give me old lady faces.
I spent my first day at the stables today!! I loved it!! It was funny cuz every time a horse breezed by the barn the boys in the hot walker would start acting up haha! And i found the one i think is my favorite. His name is Lemony and he liked for me to scratch his lip while he's groomed and he smiles at me a nuzzles cuz he likes his lip scratched... and he loves peppermints teehee!! going back tomorrow!
