Cell Phone Suggestions

I'm in the market for a new phone. I have no idea what to get. Apparently I'm living in the stone age because I use my phone - as a phone. I don't have internet or texting or anything else on it. It's just a phone. I'm considering moving up a bit in history and getting texting. I have no idea which phones are good and which are bad. I can tell you that I have a Pantech now and I hate it. I'm looking for something that has a camera, speaker phone, and keyboard.

Anyone have suggestions.

 • I have the LG enV 3 it is a pretty good phone. The only thing I had a problem with was a little bit after I first got it it would randomly shut off, and sometimes when it was on, the screen would turn white and I would have to turn it off and back on. But I took it in and they told me it was because the battery wasn't connecting all the time or something like that but they fixed it and it works great now :)
<a href="http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/images/lg-mobile-VX9200Blu-lean-large.png"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Mine looks like this but the newest one, which is the enV Touch <a href="http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/images/lg-mobile-VX11000-lean-large.png"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">looks like this.

 • Well if you drop your phone alot and didn't want a keyboard I would say a <a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/06/casio-gzone-boulder-1.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">G'Zone Boulder. They aren't the prettiest phone but they are very durable (atleast the black one is, its got kinda rubbery stuff on the front flip, the orange one is probably not as durable as it doesn't have that. They also have a new one out that my brother wants.) and also water proof. My brother had an orange one and he had to replace it once or twice, but we have had ours for like 3-4 years and beat the crap out of it and the only reason we had to switch phones is because our charger broke. Its for Verizon. If you go to the store and look at it then feel both of them, you can tell the difference. Personally if I had still kept that phone I like it alot more then the <a href="http://reviews.cnet.com/sc/33142476-2-300-DT3.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Palm Treo have now temporarily. (Ours is like the first one, but I like the one on the right better.) But I wanna get this if I ever go back to those phones. LOL. But if you don't do alot of texting then the Palm Treo is the only smart phone that I know of that doesn't cost extra per month.

 • Thank you guys. I've always had a flip phone until this last one. It opens up like a book. I need to do more research. My current carrier is AT&T and I'll probably stick with them for a good while. They've been good to me in the past.
 • I recommend anything from Palm (or recently, HP). The HP Pre3 is amazing, as are really any of their phones. I always break my phones within 3 months. I've had the Palm Pre2 for a while now and it still looks brand new. I've dropped it (and it has become airborne) dozens of times. I have yet for it to break its non-existent wings.. The phones run webOS. There are a ton of free apps (and paid ones, of course). My brother does application development, so chances are if you wanted an app, he could probably make it. ;D Because HP killed off their device department, you can get these guys for cheap off of ebay, Amazon, etc. Benefit of that? No having to extend your contract if you don't want to.

My brother has all the good Palm/HP phones -- Pixi, Pixi Plus, Pre, Pre Plus, Pre2, Veer, and Pre 3. They're fast, they actually provide true multitasking (unlike what others claim), amazing keyboards, all have great cameras, and are durable. The most recent phones (Veer, Pre2, and Pre3) are the most durable. If you want to put music on your phone, you aren't locked into using a certain software to get it (unlike with Apple devices). Also, when you browse the web on these phones, you don't have to worry about getting viruses (unlike with Android devices). The chargers aren't specially designed in a way that, if you used a non-Palm/HP branded charger, it's not going to murder your device. And, might I add, the earbuds that these phones have are fantastic. They're magnetic at the tops so the buds stay together. They're soft so they don't hurt. The sound quality is the best you can get for such a small price.

So since you're on AT&T, I'd recommend the <a href="http://www.ubergizmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/00-HP-Veer-white.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Veer or the <a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/hp-pre3-webOS-smartphone-qwerty-keyboard.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Pre3. They have a black-backed version of the Veer, but I've seen both and I think the white back makes it look better.
