What happened to honesty?

This is not directed at any one individual. I'm sick and tired of how... bad people on VP are about sticking to their word. Sick. And. Tired. I'm sick of all the promises of "don't worry, it'll get done." I'm tired of all the contests where the host drops off the face of the earth. I'm through with trying to participate in community events and then getting screwed over nine out of ten times. What happened to honesty? What happened to sticking to your word? Why do people decide "Oh, I'm going to change the rules now." or "I know people put TIME and ENERGY into this, but I'm going to end it without winners anyway." If you get even ONE entry of decent composition DON'T be a jerk and go "Nah, no one wins! 8D" People put valuable time and energy into those things. It takes time to train, to draw, to code. Everything. Not to mention skill. I mean, you ARE holding a CONTEST for a reason- you lack at least one of the above. Each time I join a contest, from goodie dye color creation to naming to train offs to art contests, I get screwed. The host disappears. The host closes without a winner. The host decides "I'll pay you, but much less than I said I would." It pisses me off. I know, I know "Well, just don't join any events." This is true, but I'd like to believe that SOMEwhere is a person who will actually STICK TO THEIR WORD and make it a fun, worthwhile event. *rant*

I understand where you are coming from completely, its like if I hold a Contest I HAVE to go through with what I said, even if I cant be bothered or Im running low on Money, well thats my own fault. Its like people are making promises they cant keep sometimes and its really annoying

I agree completely! If i have something come up and cant get to banners right then, I PM or post publicly on here telling them what's going on and ill have it done asap and i get it done as soon as i get done with my personal life issues haha I know how frustrating it gets!

Life does get in the way sometimes though, for various issues and reasons. Many people don't bother to update anyone either on what's going on though - which does get frustrating! Another thing I don't like is when people absolutely cannot wait for an order to be done. Some people act as though the world is going to end the next day if they don't get their banner by then. xD We're only human! We can only do one thing at a time!

I've had this occur many times.

I just have to say, in my experience, all of the above mentioned things to be rare. Every contest I've participated in, there has been a winner, and no problems.

If life gets in the way, I can understand a week or two of no comments. But one month? Two? How about six? Where do we draw the line? Then you are extremely lucky, Frost. Nine out of ten contests I've joined on here in the last three years have not ended, ended without winners, etc.

Well, it's not even ones I've participated in.. I watch a lot of the contests, without entering, just because I like to see what people come out with. Most contests do end perfectly, but there are a few. However. If you want to talk about trainers not getting things done and falling off the face if the earth.. THAT ticks me off, and I agree 100% with what you're feeling..

Paid someone 11mil to do starting grooms on a line of dog. Haven't seen her in nearly three months. Hasn't touched a dog past first gen.

I have entered many color and dog naming, design, ect. contests, and all of the naming ones have been cancelled without a winner. Some of them had real life issues that got in the way, which I understand because we all have lives outside of VP, but that does not excuse the other people that get wht they want out of the contest and then cancel it without a winner, but still use someone else's idea. It PISSES me of so much when this happens. I mean, I have other things that I could be doing, but instead I'm thinking of names and doing designs for people who just drop off the face of the earth. I also have had an issue with a trainer who ripped me off of 3 mill. He did not even train the first dog how I asked nor did he finish that dog or any of the others that was sent and he never logged back on, so the OP's could not do anything about my money or dogs.
