Hey everyone as most of you know I'm going to a cow show in 17 days. Well my cows tails are white, or now yellow. So horse people with horse's with white tails, what do you use to get the tail whiter? I'm told to just leave whitening shampoo sit in their tails for 20 or so minutes, the problem is their tails dry so fast, it ends up drying in their hair. Well now I've talked in a circle. But seriously ideas?

<img src="http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x73/Wh347y/bW1jMS9EQ0lNLzEwMFNTTUVEL1NTUFgwMDU4LmpwZw.jpg"; alt="http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x73/Wh347y/bW1jMS9EQ0lNLzEwMFNTTUVEL1NTUFgwMDU4LmpwZw.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

 • Sadly all the horses I've had, their tails were black or only had a white top then turned black farther down lol I could text vampy and have her log in for you though :)
 • There's hair toner you can buy, basically a really weak purple dye, that's used to turn human hair white... maybe you could try some of that? As for the shampoo drying in their hair, I'd say just keep spritzing some water on it to keep it moist.

 • Chalk! Or talc, which is basically chalk. They use it in the feathers to make the fluffy feet really white. So could work in tails XD

 • I used a human shampoo/toner that is supposed to whiten hair. It's basically the same that Trianna mentioned. Since Georgia has half a white tail I use it on part of her tail and mane.

I just wrap half of her tail xD it works pretty well, though I learned quickly to wrap her tail before I put the shampoo on >.< I fail. lol

Plus toner doesn't bleach hair, it adds purple pigment, which counters any yellow. So it wouldn't affect black hair, etc, except to maybe add a tiny bit of a purple tint. :)

 • I dyed my dogs hair once, it was purple but they might make white. Its called Funky Colour and it worked really good, but I'm not sure about cow hair. We used it on Em's hair and that part turned out the best. I'm not sure if they make white though. I'm pretty sure we got it from hot topic but you could always order it if you want to try it and can't find any. If you can't find white then you could always die it a different color... Like blue :)

 • My friend bathes her white chickens in bleach water before a show. It works but I'm wondering how much harm it might do. Doesn't seem to effect them at all. I don't have white birds or I might do it too...
 • Id definitally try a whitener shampoo. I have a friend with a palomino and she applied a dulutant whitener straight onto his tail and then held his tail in a bucket for five minutes, then she took it out and rinsed it and did it once more and his tail was glorious!
