"Professional"

edited September 2011 in Vent
Pro is short for professional. Which means when you have a commission page you shouldn't be advertising junk tossed together in paint. As a person you only drifted back to vp after seeing "professional" art forums and being sick of seeing paint junk... I wanted to come here and see quality not paint. Well so far so good and then not... Grr :/

  • Respectfully, you have to realize there are different age groups on here. The art that younger people make may be very impressive for their age, and they're proud of it. It isn't "junk" to them, they may have worked hard. I'll agree, though, "Pro" may not be the correct term to be used. But, they're young, they admire the other banner makers who are professionals and want to be like them. They may not realize what "pro" means..

  • <span style="font-size:85"><span style="color:#0000FF">I agree with frost on the age group thing and they may seem to like it.<br>But I also agree with Wheaty on the use of the word, "Pro."<br><br>roshsia (SP?) made a post a long while ago about the use of Pro on vp.<br>I too get a little annoyed when people use it. I don't say anything but honestly, when I see someone post on here<br>Pro Pics and Banners for sale, I'm instantly drawn away. Its sad to say. . .</span></span>
  • That's why i never say my stuff is pro 0.0 I don't feel like it can measure up to the other peoples stuff so i always put something simple =(
  • I agree with both of you on this, I never usually put pro on things because what pro may be to me may be something completely different to someone else, and it really agravates me when people say im looking for a pro layout. I mean what does that mean? I know they want a decent layout and stuff but go into details of what you think is pro, its really annoying. I just message them back saying that i make layouts. <br><br><br>But its so annoying to see that word used. Especially on a game aimed at people ranging from like 8+ (usually) because no ones going to be a 'professional' unless they do it as a job. <br><br><br>*Sorry rant over*

  • well,it really depends to your point of veiw. if you are older seeing an 14 year olds art you might not be impressed, but if you are younger seeing a 21 year olds art,you might be impressed

  • Once in awhile I find myself labeling my work "Pro" which in my case is the truth. I am considered a professional, I attended college to do just that. <br>However, when I see something labeled "Pro" I always look, usually ending up disappointed. But like what has already been said, there are different ages on here, the younger players normally just copy what they have seen. They are really impressed with their work, they saw someone else advertising something as "Pro" and they do the same. <br>For us, being older and more understanding, it is really something that we just have to look past, afterall, we all were like them at one point.
