Some people

So I went out for a walk with my mother today, and when we got back there was a couple just leaving our apartment complex. There was a little black kitten following them, and since they were heading toward the road I picked it up to stop it from getting hit... well, as soon as I picked it up I could tell something was wrong... it's really underweight and has quite a pot belly. On closer inspection it was covered in fleas, and it's gums are as white as a sheet. My mother tried to get the people's attention, but they kept walking. I couldn't just leave him out there, since he seems to have worms and be pretty anemic, and would probably have been run over, or worse.... cats have disappeared in this complex (hopefully just due to wandering off). So we brought him inside, gave him some food and water, some worm meds, and I gave him a bath(the water turned red). He's now snoozing on my bed until his people come back so I can talk to him. Hopefully when I tell them their cat is sick and needs to be inside and taken care of they'll actually listen. Worse case scenario I suppose is that he was outside and being ignored because they just don't really want him...

  • Thats so sad, when my cat caught fleas she was stuck inside, and since shes had kittens she remains inside until I get her fixed so she cant have more, unfortunatly we have to keep seperating the mom and kitten (that we kept, hes like 3months old) because they keep fighting. We actually took in a cat once that had been left behind when its owners moved, it was just skeletal, we fed it up and she got very fat but shes disappeared again now (she wanders off alot) :( so we just have 2 cats.
