Breed Clean Up -NEW CHALLENGE (end of original post)

ATTENTION: PLEASE PM ME ALL BREEDS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE CLEANED UP (preferably breeds with 1000+)! (check the list in the second post to make sure it's not already on the list)

You can join this at any time. It's a very long-term clean up. If we have 50 breeds to clean up, two days each... it'll take around three months. So we gladly accept anybody to start participating whenever they like.

Every few days, the "breed of choice" will change. During those few days, you'll have to go around buying cheap dogs of that breed and release/retire them (neuter them before if you'd like to make a profit/break even).

Example: "Breed of choice" would be: Border Collie. Everyone participating would go around and clean up all the Border Collies for two to three days (the more populated the breed is, the more days might be required to do the clean up) until a new breed is of choice a few days later.

Anyone confused? - PM all questions to me, don't post them here please.

Keep in mind, this probably wouldn't profit you much at all. In most cases, you'd lose money from buying the dogs if you're not going for the $250 to $500 cheap ones.

The most efficient people for this would be players who own a rescue like myself. Not only can you buy and retire/release dogs, you can also look for ones that need to be rescued along the way and go from there.

I'll place the "Breed of choice" and a list of breeds to clean up in a post below this one. This post is just to inform you of what's going on and what you have to do.
You need to know:

1. This is not for profit, it's purely to clean up VP. There are no prizes, winners, places, etc. It's just basically for fun and to bring down the population of some breeds to keep their value. We all know that Border Collies, Huskies, Labs, etc. aren't always of high value or interest (except for the really good dogs) because there's so many of them.

*edited* for people to understand better! 2. Release/retire all the dogs you find. Border Collies with high stats, for example, don't need to be kept neccessarily because of the high stats. There's so many with high stats that I don't think it's neccessary to keep every single one because let's be honest here... we wouldn't make as much of a difference if we leave every single high-statted one alone. This is not about "bettering" breeds by keeping good stats and ridding of low stats. This is population control.

3. Try to have a "max" that you'll spend on the dogs you're releasing/retiring. Because this isn't a competition with valuable prizes at stake (really, I wouldn't be able to track how many dogs people are retiring each to be able to make it a profitable contest, players could lie and this is why it's just for fun) you don't want to be spending a whole lot on the dogs. After all, you're not doing anything with them. You just getting rid of them. Make your "max" around $1000 to $5000. It's all up to you though and how much you personally don't mind spending on a dog that's useless to you.

4. Don't get competitive. Like I've said so many times, it's not a competition! (:

5. Get in the habit of neutering all the dogs before you release/retire them if they aren't already. Let's say you buy 4 dogs for $250 and neuter them all. You just made $1000 (the other $1000 paid for the dogs you bought) and that could eventually lead to a small profit in the end and if not, at least it was there to help pay for more dogs that you're getting rid of.

6. Try and release/retire at least 10 dogs per day. If everyone participated and did this, we'd make a huge difference. If we were working on Border Collies for two days, that's 20 released/retired dogs per player. If only 6 players were participating, that's 120 dogs. At that rate, we can do this easily.

7. Remember that you'll have to turn dogs if they're over 6 months. 6 month old pups can't be released anymore and they can only be retired if they're 1 year old and 1 week. Don't buy pups over 6 months or under 1 year, 1 week if you really don't want to spend the time/lose money turning them!

If there's anything I missed, please PM me about it. Any questions, same deal, PM me. The only posts we need on this thread are posts saying you'll participate, that's all. We don't need questions or concerns because they can go straight to my inbox. (: Thanks and enjoy yourselves guys because it really is a reward to see a difference!

Okay, so because this has been neglected due to my absences from VP (not long ones), we're going to try and make up for it by having a 'bigger challenge.'

Every player participating must pick two breeds to keep cleaning up everyday. Just check and make sure that no more cheap ones are on the market and keep releasing/retiring the ones you do find. It's up to you whether you want to choose two easy breeds, two difficult beeds, or one easy and one difficult.

I will be choosing the Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound. I've already started.

It's up to you to keep up with the population numbers and such, just make a post stating that you'll be participating and with what breeds. Question? PM me or post it.
