line question

edited August 2011 in Questions/Support
I'm a breeding kennel, and I've been working on two lines of dogs, English Cocker Spaniel and Spotted Hyena. I've noticed that lately, when I have two dogs with (96)+ hyper, I'll get pups that have a very disappointing (91) hyper. I've tried 3 different tries with the same female and male and they keep getting only a few pups with lower stats. I've also gotten to 4 stars on hyper with my ECS line and now lately, I'm having trouble keeping it over 100 because it's been dropping.

Now mind you, I get my dogs fully trained and stat maxed so this has nothing to do with that.

I'm wondering if this just happens when a dog is close to 10x4? Or is there something wrong?

 • So you're stat-maxxing and grooming your dogs close to their age expectancy/infertility age? With hyper that's particularly important. Even if they've already hit x4 in hyper, it can drop if you don't continue to long groom the breeding pairs.

Also, do you have 100 in breeding skill on your breeding kennel?

Sometimes pairs just give disappointing pups. When I'm breeding a difficult pair, I make sure to breed the female to infertility, to get as many litters as possible. I can say that, having done a line of Cocker Spaniels to 10x4, they were extremely difficult. I imagine the English Cockers are no different. However, if you have reached x4 in hyper with them before, the breed is not glitched.
 • I generally do short grooms >.<. And yes I have 100 skill in breeding. I'll try getting some long grooms then aha.

Thank you! :D
 • No problem. Hope the long grooms work out. Good luck. :)
