Dogs and Entering Events

I recently evented four dogs for someone and returned the dogs to them but now when I try to enter any of my dogs in the event, it says 'you can only enter three dogs per event'. Is this true? Or is this a glitch?

    It should actually be 4. If you've already entered 4 dogs in the event, you will not be able to enter more.
