Ugh. I actually DO have a life.

Alright. I just need to rant & rave for a minute so, here goes:

About two-three weeks ago, I was contacted by this guy..we shall call him Pedro & he asked me if I'd be a Ghostwriter/Specwriter for him for his story. I agreed immediately.

For those of you who don't know what a Ghostwriter is:

Basically, he has an outline of a story, stuff that he has come up with but he is terrible at actually writing. So, I'm writing his material.

However, our contract that we have (we already have a publisher set up to publish the story when it's done) is that my name shall go on the book, I'll get half of all profits we make from it, etc etc.

Anyway, back to my rant.

This story is a Sci-Fi Fantasy story about the future, basically. (If you'd like to read the Introduction, feel free to PM me). Well, within two days of actually getting the outline and a tidbit of planning, I had Chapter 1 finished. Well, I wrote Chapter 2 but Pedro and myself decided that we would separate Chapter 2 and actually came up with 85% of Chapter 2 and 15% of it went to Chapter 3, which I'm fine with. So technically, I'm ahead of what I should be.

Well, my problem is...Trent texts me all the time asking me if I'm writing.

My problem with this?

I have a job which I just started so my hours are iffy.[/*]

I have a family. I can't abandon them at random times to write[/*]

Writer's block. I get it occasionally[/*]

Don't get me wrong, I love writing this story but I just wish he'd calm down for a minute, ya know? He expects 1 chapter every 2 days...that's pretty intense. Each chapter he wants to be at least 5,000 words & I mean, I could write that [I did with Chapter 1] & 5,000 words isn't a lot; but he needs a chill pill.

I know some of you are thinking "just tell him you have a life & he can't expect that out of you" I have. I've thoroughly talked to him about it.

One day he called me like 14 times about something he could've easily texted me about. I understand he's excited, I am, too; but ugh, he just needs to chill.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense or seems dumb to some of you, it's just been irking me lately.

Starbursts to all who read.

Maybe not with the Ghostwriting, which sounds totally awesome by the way, but with other little things.

I'm currently a senior at my high school, have a job, attending college classes, own 4 dogs and 2 cats that need care
everyday, have 2 sisters that need attending to when mother is busy, have my art classes and paintings I must work
on and on top of that, homework. Having a busy life does always put me on the edge and when someone constantly is
checking up on you or looking over your shoulder, it gets very annoying.

Trust is the main issue. You gotta have trust in me that I'm doing everything I promise. I don't promise anything that
I don't believe I can't keep, and if for some reason it turns out I can't keep said promise, I make a follow up phone call
with a good explanation.

Hovering is not the answer. It only leads to tension and frustration. So you're not a lone there.
I wish you luck on your story though! ^^ That would be a job that I might look into or wanna learn more about. haha
 • Paige-

That's exactly it. I mean even right now, he's texting me about the story. I mean, I'm not doing anything but it is early morning hours.

Feel free to PM me & I can give you more details about ghostwriting [: I love it <3

I've told him numerous amounts of time-he's just excited (so he says) because he's been looking for GW (Ghostwriter) for a year & a half & never found a style of writing he enjoyed until mine came along (Ego boost?)

He's not as bad as he was when I first started writing, he's weaned off a little bit.
 • lol Well in a way, I'd take that as a compliment XD
And that's good. ^^ It sounds like you two are going to be
very successful.
 • Maybe you could set up a time every day to talk with him, like say 6 o'clock at night, when you can give him progress reports, etc and ask that he save his phone calls until that time.
