  • I had a red tail boa when I was in the military. There was nothing like after getting home and letting my hair loose to let the snake give me a head massage. Yeah, weird, but it felt wonderful.

  • What kind of snake is it? Ya, lol, I have to agree that it's a very odd feeling to have a snake moving on you. Our ball is currently wrapped around my arm like a bracelet... a 3 foot long 1.8 pound bracelet.

  • The snake got tangled in my brother's friend's mom's hair... I have no idea how they got him out. <br><br>So far he went into my purse andattempted to go into my bros pocket and i cant remember where else. <br><br>It's a Ball Python. <br>I've always wanted pne for myself but my mom fears snakes...so I'll have to move out before I can ever get a snake.

  • Ball pythons are a pretty good choice for a first snake, one of the best actually, because they tend not to bite. They can be picky eaters though. The only thing about having a snake is you have to be prepared to kill the mice/rats, or keep a box of pre-killed ones in your freezer... not something everyone is willing to do. lol. <br><br>

<br><br>I love red tails. I'd say I'd try that with my friends 8 foot female, but she was under socialized before he got her, so she's probably try to constrict me. XD

  • LOL Mine was very socialized and not nearly that big. She was only about 2 or 3 feet

  • Lol! This thread inspired me to ask my mom about getting a snake.. She said no way and that "snakes probably can't tell the difference between you and food." This is coming from the lady that runs around the yard catching the little garter snakes! Of course.. There is a huge size difference, but I'd like to have a companion wrPped around my wrist while I type!

<br><br>I've never been bit by either of my snakes, or any of my friends snakes. My hubby has been bit twice, once by our ball and once by our king snake, but only because he tried to pick them up too soon after they ate. Trust me, a ball python or a king/corn snake will never mistake you for food. If you handle them properly, and are cautious when they are near their shed or after they've just fed, You'll probably never get even one bite. Snake bites, from what I've heard, are much less painful then dog bites anyway, and as long as you put some antibiotic on it after you get bit they are very unlikely to cause any problems.

  • I'm planning on buying a Califonia King Snake when my fiance and I get married... My mom hates snakes, so I have to wait till then. The only thing is we are waiting 2 years before we get married, so who knows when this will actually happen lolz
