• Wow i know the feeling.. Everyone here in East Texas seems to think that Yellow means "Speed up and try to beat the red light" So its just custom that we still slow down for green lights sometimes to make sure its clear =/ We JUST got our first two traffic lights EVER in the town i live in.. It's taking time to get used to the lights and the fact that the speed limit through town changed from 55 to 50 =( In Louisiana(most of the time) people seem to think that green means stop. I SWEAR we will move farther on a red light than we will when its green -_- I'm glad that your husband is okay!
 • Oh damn. I know how you all feel. And I'm so thankful you all are ok.
I hope you get your car and insurance to cooperate with you. . . They're slimmy lil suckers. XP
 • It bites. The insurance company randomly changed his policy so that he's not covered for collisions. This is going to be a very interesting week... Here's to hoping we get this all worked out, otherwise we're totally screwed.

 • If the other guy is at fault, his insurance will pay. I believe most states require at the least collision insurance to register a car. If you're having problems, I'd suggest maybe seeing about contacting a lawyer who will look at the case for free to see about suing him or his insurance.

 • The cop first said Vincent was at fault, gave him a ticket for 'failure to follow right of way', and then half an hour later walked back into the hospital room and took the ticket, and decided neither were at fault, after Vincent explained several times what had happened.

My husband was in the left turn lane, in the intersection, waiting for traffic to lessen so he could make a turn. His light was red, and he watched as the other light turned to yellow, and then red and everyone was stopping or slowing down. As the law dictates, he needed to clear the intersection, so he did, and that's when another guy hit him. Someone four cars back heard the crash, looked up immediately afterwards, and saw Vincent's light was green, so the other light was obviously red for quite some time. The cop told Vincent it was still his fault for assuming the other guy would stop at the red light, and not the fault of the guy who actually ran the red light.

Both Vincent and the other guy have the same insurance company, and the other guy ADMITTED to Vincent it was his fault, once the cop had left. "Hey man, listen, I'm sorry this happened. I mean, we both were driving kind of stupid I mean... Nevermind. Sorry it happened."

 • The same thing happened to my mom.
Four-way intersection, decent car, dummy person hit her.
She was fine, the car wasn't.
But in this case... insurance wouldn't cover it.. The people who hit her weren't from this country and they pretty much got out of it..
