Breeding to Perfection!

edited June 2011 in General Discussion
Ok, so upon beginning my kennel yesterday, I've come to realize that everyone is just looking for the best of the best out of each breed. Although that is the key component to having a successful kennel, I didn't start off buying 10X4 dogs. I have purchased dogs that are each perfect in different skills. Is it possible to produce 10X4 puppies from what I've begun? Train and perfect each dog, then breed them to combine the skills and continue "up"breeding till they are perfect; like in real life?? I mean that is the whole challenge to me, is to work to perfect the breed from what I have started with. Is that possible? Or am I just spinning my wheels?!

 • Everyone once in a blue moon I see dogs with stats like 300s or 400s in singular categories. I'm not much of a breeder, so I'm not positive if stats just cap after awhile. But I imagine it's quite difficult to breed dogs with stats that high, but I've seen it before so it's not entirely impossible.

 • I think I get what you're saying.
Nope, you don't have to start with imports ^.^
Just make sure you don't inbreed and make sure your dogs are stat maxxed before breeding them(:

 • Why wouldn't you want to inbreed? Does it affect the stats badly or something?

 • I think it's a matter of personal preference. I like when the bloodlines are nice and clean though.
