Argh

Just lost my iPod for three days.. Mon-Wed. My mum was nice enough, however, to let me keep it over the weekend. I lost it because of my recent badish grades. The grade that threw her over the edge was an F on a French test. For one, it's not my fault. This was hard material and the teacher taught us in class once, gave us 3 pages of homework on it, then threw a test at us. For one, this teacher is terrible. I learn through.. Stimulation. Basically, you can stand there and tell me everything I need to learn for this test, and I'll drift off to lala land because well, I'm bored, waste of your time. If you play a game with me, or do something FUN, I can pick it up. None of the kids did well on this test, the best got 5 out of 10 questions wrong. I could stay after school, but I hate the teacher. Absoulutely hate her, and I dread French class.

 • I'm sorry...that sucks. My french teacher is awesome, she plays games with us and does a lot of different things. Everyone learns differently so I'm happy she has a variety. Is there another french teacher at your school? Maybe you could talk to the counselor about switching over, and just tell them that you don't learn well in that class. However the year's almost over, so it may not help. =(

 • I have a math teacher that sounds exactly the same. He thinks everyone will learn well with the same method: standing there and talking about it. I learn well with actually doing it and "whys" and "hows" explained to me as I'm doing it. It's hard for me to understand math when all I'm doing is hearing it.

Luckily, you don't need French to pass school, right? I have to pass math.
I hated French class in grade 8. It was torture and we had no choice about taking the class. I taught myself the entire time from the text book because the teacher was useless (he was a woodworking teacher...) and he had no idea how to explain things effectively. In the end, I passed the class with a B, thanks to myself. -_-
