Help! Yellow discharge from Rabbits eye...?

edited April 2011 in General Discussion
Remember the New Zealand bunny I got? Well, I've had her for a few days, but when I was holder her today I noticed some yellow discharge coming out of her right eye... I'm using the same bedding and such as my teacher, so what's causing this? Also, is there an inexpensive way to help her? We got her because she has a tumor on her neck and wasn't expected to live this long anyways, so I'm not going to get much work done with her. I just don't want her to suffer... so, any ideas? What it is will help bunches, too. Also, is it alright to remove the discharge? Just with a wet washcloth/paper towel? I want to change her bedding to just towles until her eyes get better- is this a good idea?
Is quiting due to no time, anyone can contact me at my nonpersonal email coconaur@aol.com

  • Is her eye swollen? And is it like puss or just a juice?
  • I wouldn't say swollen... I think it even looks smaller than her other eye, but I don't think so... It's more like pus, thicker than just a tear d:

  • Usually an eye discharge wouldnt be anything id worry about unless her eye looks like its been damaged. If it gets worse than id look into it a lil more but for now it just seems like she's been stressed, which moving into a new house, will do. Pm me and ill give you some more info.
