wishing game question

when I used to play, if someone wished for something you chould offer something else, especially when they asked for a specific amount of vpc. Well I didnt even have as much as they asked for, and later received a message saying its agsint the rules to give them less. are all wishing wells like this.?

I generally stay out of the wish threads because of this..but no, it is not against the rules. As far as I can see the original wish thread said that you could offer something else instead, but it all depends on the thread you're using really. Those games are so overrated though, it just gets irritating and confusing after a while. People will start fighting and accusing and then more wish threads start popping up in order to "start fresh"..it's stupid really. : /

As for my thoughts: -It's a "rule" to not ask for a certain amount of vpc. --Say someone wants vpc, the next person gives as much as they can or what they see fit. --Someone wants a show dog, the next person either gives them a prospect or a proven dog. -People shouldn't complain for anything they get, even if it's only 1k. No normal player is going to give someone they don't know on a thread 10 mill. It's just common sense. -I use to play on the wish thread (when there was only ONE) and all the older, more well known players explained to newer ones that you didn't ask for something too specific (such as 10 mill vpc). Everyone respected the more knowledgeable players and stay to the rules. I'm not going to go around looking for the original wish thread that was here when I first started (as it's probably not here anyway) so that you can see the original rules (with the most common sense), but wishes weren't so outrageous as they are nowadays. $:\$

As I keep quoting myself on every single wish thread created, the game has now become demeaning because of people's expectancy and greed. I have basically shot down every newly created wish thread, will continue to, and will continue to be the reality check for most of these people. This kind of crap irritates me just from an observational perspective, I can only imagine how many others get fed up with seeing it. I have never asked for "donations", I have never asked for something outragious for free. Not even friends. I don't expect things from friends, nevermind a complete stranger. It's really kind for them to give you something in the first place, be thankful for it. As the saying goes, "beggars can't be choosers". Imma end up turning this thing into a rant :roll: But anyways. No, it is not a rule that you have to give the person what they wished for. If I assumed correctly, the wish you granted for that specific person under that wish thread, says Nothing about having to give them what they want. Honestly, I only know of one of them saying those exact words and that one wasn't it. Shouldn't be like that anyways. Be grateful for what you get.

No, that's not against the rules at all. It would be different if you were asking for 10mil VPC and giving out 10k. That annoys me, but unfortunatly a lot of people do it. I remember when there was one I wish thread. It went smoothly and people didn't complain because they didn't get exactly what they wanted. I mean, people need to be thankful they're getting anything. Yeah, if you have over 100mil and are giving out 20k to "deserving" players it can be percieved as rude or unfair. I can't help feeling jealous when I give someone 100k and get 10k from another player. But that's their choice, and it was your choice to participate, so you just suck it up. People are arguing constantly on the wish threads. Now, I don't usually post on them. If I see someone asking for something I have, maybe I'll post. But otherwise I don't want to get involved. People are greedy, selfish and rude. I mean asking for a sponsor, goodie dye or 10mil? Then giving someone else a poorly bred dog or 10k and complaining when they don't get what they asked for because it's unreasonable? In my book, asking for a specific amount is rude. If that happens, just ignore it and don't post, or give what you can.

I wonder how that happened? ;D Ops have been talking about Giveaway threads for months because they don't seem to be the type of thread the majority of the players want, at least not those players who stick around. But, there were only a couple and there really wasn't anything "bad" going on. This thread just brought it back up, so I took a look and there were what 5 different giveaway threads? That's redundant and unnecessary, as well as causing people to skip from one thread to the other, to another hoping to get something special. The demands were out of hand. We want our players to be able to help other players out. We'd love for new players to maybe have a chance at something special. We do not want people to assume they are owed something because they take advantage of someone's generosity. We do not want people to assume that if they want 10 million VPC, they can ask for it and if they don't get it, they can throw a temper tantrum. I have started the only wishing thread with the rules and anyone who wants can make the first wish

It's not your fault, dear. And you can't feel guilty about starting anything anyways cuz this crap has been going on for a bit now ;p If you wanna talk about puppies though, I'd suggest changing the title first. Lol. And niiiice, Bama XD I noticed that cuz I looked for a new sticky after seeing the threads were locked. But I agree, they were getting far too out of hand. I thank you for creating a new (one and only) wish thread as opposed to banishing the idea in general. *sighs* Idk. I wish there weren't so many conflicts within this game. Even though I know I was a part of it, having to have ones about wish threads is just petty.
