New horse!

So my sister is leasing-to-buy a new horse. I'm so excited. This horse has an awesome personality and is like a big dog. He'll follow you around and loves to lick. :-D

<img src="http://i52.tinypic.com/14m9pxi.png"; alt="http://i52.tinypic.com/14m9pxi.png"; class="bb-image" />
His name is Louie

Here is my horse Buddy
<img src="http://i55.tinypic.com/2cgh1mo.png"; alt="http://i55.tinypic.com/2cgh1mo.png"; class="bb-image" />
I couldn't find a better pic of him besides this one:
<img src="http://i51.tinypic.com/2a6a88l.png"; alt="http://i51.tinypic.com/2a6a88l.png"; class="bb-image" />

And I'll throw in a pic of my puppy, Draco, who just turned 1 yr old yesterday
<img src="http://i55.tinypic.com/1yk7k8.png"; alt="http://i55.tinypic.com/1yk7k8.png"; class="bb-image" />
Here he is playing tug-of-war with his collar. He is always doing goofy things like this.

  • Louie reminds me of my horse Tawny xD he isnt out of the Dual Pep line is he? AND your horse
Buddy reminds me of my mustang in the face XD AAAAND i think maybe the
puppy shoulda been named Dobby with those ears LOL
  • No sorry XD they are both out of the Conclusive line. And I get that a lot, that Buddy looks like a mustang, but he is actually a solid colored Appaloosa. He just doesn't look anything like one. lol. I agree about Draco. He has gotten about twice his size since that pic, but his ears are at least 3 times bigger. :lol:

  • Well there is a huge horse fair going on near me, and me and my sister (the other ahs that posted this) are thinking of getting a new horse at this fair. What kind would anyone reccomend? We already have an appy and a quarter horse.

  • Well depends what you are buying to do with it.

  • Probably a little jumping and area work. Also trails.
    4r93lz.png
  • Well for trails you could pretty much any breed :) and jumping I would say Arabian,Thoroughbred,ETC.

  • If you want to jump, they're harder to find, and deffinantly more expensive, but a Hanovarian might work for you :D

  • Yeah. I think I want a thourobred. They would probably be best. Plus I love thouroubreds.
Yeah I thought about a Hanoverian but those are really expensive. Our parents make us pay board for our horses, which is really steep due to it being a show barn. It is the closest one to us. So our budget is in the mid four digits. The barn is heated though :lol:

  • A thoroughbred? You have to be careful when picking those out :/ I don't know how experienced you are or whatever, but I probably wouldn't get one if it was your first as a jumper...

Technically, if I were you, I'd just get myself a nice sound grade. Unless you really want to show d:

  • As far as jumping goes, we are not that experienced. But I did own a thourobred for a while though so I know how to handle them. They are high energy and maintance but sweet where you can bond with them.
