• Yeah, maybe just make it more of a sport for him or something, my labs love the water too, have you ever tried dock jumping?

 • Bow
Find it
Bang (Kind of like play dead. Make a little gun with your finger and say bang. The dog moves into the play dead position)
Dance (more for little dogs. They need a lot of balance)
High five

 • Teach him to open the fridge and get you what you want. I dont mean to sound lazy, but it comes in handy for me when I sit down to watch a movie and I realize I forgot something in there xD hah
 • Lala - lol I would but Mom would NOT appreciate that trick, lol

 • lol..when I first taught it to LaLa my mom thought it was neat. However, she did not think it was neat when LaLa misconstrued what I taught her as an invite to get whatever she wanted whenever she wanted it. I would sit to watch a movie and ask her to get me something and she would come back with something for me, place it in my lap, then go back and get something for her. I quickly taught her not to do that without permission.
 • lol thats hilarious!

That reminds me of Dusty. I taught him to go get the remote and he'd get a treat. So now at random times in the day he'll run over with the remote in his mouth, with a big smile and a "happy tail" and think he's going to get a treat, lol

 • lmao..I love how smart dogs are.
LaLa has it programmed in her head when American Idol is on I think, because whenever it's on and my sister asks me to ask her to get the remote, LaLa looks at me like "hell no." You know how you can tell when dogs hate certain things?

You could teach him how to roll over and spin in circles! (if you're looking to do something easy) Laru learned those in about five minutes each, super simple. Except sometimes when I'm telling her to do something and I'm holding a treat she'll start wildly spinning in circles thinking that that's good enough.
 • lol nice!

I have no idea how to teach him to roll over. The spinning should be easy though

 • Ok..seriously...to teach him how to roll over get him to lie down and then literally push him all the way over so he does a complete roll while saying ROLL OVER. Then tell him GOOD BOY!! and give him a treat. Repeat that step for about four to five times maybe and then see if he does it by himself. LaLa got it on the second try, but she's a freak of nature. So keep trying. lol, but be gentle xD
 • lol alright, I shall try. Dusty usually catches on to things pretty quick too

 • Yeah. He's probably a freak of nature like my dog then. lol...tell me how it goes : D
