<span style="font-size:90"><br>We had our first trail ride of the year yesterday. 
<br>He did really good, I expected more of a fight when moving, expected him to take off for the barn as soon as we hit the field, expected him to deliberately run me into things, and thought that he'd try to run full out up the hills..but he didn't.(:<br>He did run me into a few jagger bushes (thorn bushes if you will 
we call them jaggers up here lol ) and he slipped and shoved my knee/shin/complete leg into a nice, thick tree. ;; My leg is still swollen and there's like..a carpet burn on top of what I can imagine will be a rather large, painful bruise.<br>I ended up tossing my BO's saddle on him, since it was the only one that wasn't in her tack room (locked). It was <span style="font-style:italic">extremely</span> comfortable! Wasn't the best for the trail though..I'm trying to sit way back going down hills, and it's pushin' me forward 'coz it's a barrel saddle, haha. We managed though..it did slide back a decent bit about halfway through our ride though since I forgot to retighten the girth, and I didn't have his breastplate on like I usually do. It's a heavy saddle though. o.o It's like 35-40lbs! The one I usually use on him is only about 20-25lbs. xD<br>Anywho..I think we're coming along nicely. He trotted around the barrels I had in a figure 8 nicely, never knocked one..even though he wouldn't canter between them.. >.> I gave up trying to make him, haha.<br>We came back and I brushed him down, picked his hooves, brushed his mane, and gave him a few of the dinner mint treats that I'm allowed to use for him. <br>I also got him to sidestep a bit after we got back from the trail. He thought about going up once or twice, but didn't..so I think that's good. I mean, he use to fly straight up when you cued him to sidestep (leg yield if you have no idea what I'm talking about xD ), so not going up at all is a pretty good thing.<br>Oh..and we were suppose to be going to a show a ways over in Ohio, but it got cancelled. ![:\](/forum/resources/emoji/confused.png ":\")
A damn shame, coz I think we coulda got a..semi-decent time for a half trained draft cross, lol.<br>Now, for pictures.(:<br>I have one for confo (as close to square as I can currently get him..I will be asking my BO to help me with that
