HTML Tables

Well, I know what HTML is, how it works, and I know most of the basic things. (background, font size/color, headers, etc.) However, as much as I try, I cannot make tables. I have read many guides online but none of them are what I'm looking for. I'd really like to be able to make layouts, but without tables I can't. <br><br>Does anyone know of a good guide for HTML tables? Or would anyone be willing to teach me? <br><br>Thanks so much!
