The Jockeys,PETA,and Joe Talamo

I am watching re-runs of The Jockeys from the 2008 Derby and Breeders Cup and stuff and did you know <span style="font-weight:bold">2</span> jockeys are killed every year?! I dont know weather to think its a lot or a little :shock: <br>Then I was looking on google for stuff about Eight Belles and the first thing that came up was this: <br><a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,354126,00.html"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,354126,00.html</a><br>It made me so mad! I hate that they blame it on Gabriel that she was put down! The vet didnt even look at her! He just radioed and said put her down. I was SOO mad that day! :evil: :cry: <br>Then I found this about Barbaro. (its not so anger threatening LOL) <br><a href="http://www.thehorse.com/pdf/aaep2007/barbaro.pdf"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.thehorse.com/pdf/aaep2007/barbaro.pdf</a><br>I didnt really like him until I watched him again but Joe Talamo is a GREAT jockey! He rides horses with VERY low odds (30 to 1,etc) and he gets them 1st place :shock: :shock: its really cool! But Gabriel Saez is still my favorite jockey :wink: even though he was riding Eight Belles when she went down :cry: She was my favorite racehorse and then my next favorite was Barbaro. Im still mad though cause I cant find some of the reining horses on the internet anywhere. :| Im a western person but I like to watch racing :D<br><span style="font-weight:bold">EDIT*</span><br>I now know why my favorite number is 6!     Well, one of the many disputed topics is horses racing at 2.. their bones are still developing and it weakens their bones for when they get older. Eight Belles raced at 2 but it is strange that both of her front ankles broke. Barbaro raced at two too. The filly also experienced a bruised head and hemorrhaging in the left thyroid gland, which the report blamed on her fall after the initial injuries. Larry Jones, her trainer, commented that he believes the horse just tripped over her own feet. "She's bad about stumbling while pulling up. She doesn't pick her feet up very high. It's one reason she could run very fast and far. She had the perfect motion for being effective and efficient. Eight Belle's great grand father, on her mother's side, is Mr. Prospector while Barbaro's grandfather, on his mother's side also, is Mr. Prospector.
