Puppy Mill

So I may have just stumbled upon a puppy mill... But.. It's in a different state, and I found out through the websites and I emailed them questioning them. Please don't comment rude things today since I just got a bunch of crud from another game

(I'm done with that for at least the day..) Does anyone have any ideas on how to report them or do anything? Any ideas can be helpful, and I could use some help too =] I know this won't shut them all down, but maybe someday I can change the world... Maybe..

Talk to the state police for that state. They'll most likely send somebody over there to check it out. Just be sure to mention that you suspect it, but your not entirely sure.

Also keep in mind that it's not illegal to breed dogs. If they provide enough food, water, shelter and keep hygiene levels at an acceptable level, there's nothing anyone can do - even if you do think keeping dogs in cages 99% of the time is unfair. You may just have to accept that nothing can be done, especially if you haven't seen the facilities yourself.

It's a shame, but there's really not much you can do. =/ I live in an area where puppy mills are all around me. It's really horrible, but the best you can do is to spread the word on how to properly purchase dogs. A lot of people "rescue" puppies from pet stores, which only funds mills. If you want to help shut them down, that's the best way you can do it. Unless you can visit them and find clear evidence that the dogs are not getting adequate necessities, it's hard to turn them in. The last bust around here (quite a distance from me, but I believe it reached national news) happened because the guy was keeping all the dogs that died in barrels...so it was a sanitary concern, more than a concern for the animals, that shut him down. We can only hope someday it becomes a law that people cannot mass breed =/

Thank you all Also I think since a lot of the puppies are 'AKC registered' then I can talk to an AKC rep. I know they pop up randomly at breeder's facilities, and they're allowed to do it to.

In all honesty, AKC isn't going to care =/ They get money for all those dogs to be registered, therefore, they are making a profit off over breeding. I've never liked the way AKC runs or how they just hand out papers to make dogs look like they are from "official" lines.

personally i think puppy mills are horrible things created for selfish reasons just like dog fighting... they dont care about the animals they care about the cash its horrible and discusting... if you think you found one i think you should call your local human society or dog rescue that deals with these sort of cases and they can have a look... make sure they are aware your not entirely sure that this is a puppy mill...thanks...kdog

I can't exactly call my local shelter, since this place is two states away.. I believe I stated that above..

 I can't exactly call my local shelter, since this place is two states away.. I believe I stated that above..

ok well maybe you should contact their local shelter or animal rescue group and first i think it was good that u sent an email claifying

Call the Humane Society/ASPCA in that state (look up the phone number) And more than likely the Aspca/humane society will look and if it is, seize (take away) the dogs and find them good homes.
