Dude.(:

Well, Drew and I were at the barn yesterday and I finally got a chance to ask Mendi (barn owner [BO]) about leasing Dude this spring and over the summer for the show season. :D I'm extremely excited, and I can't even wait until the weather gets better. ^^ It's only $100 a month (which is good for all the horses I've seen for lease online in my area. The only bad thing about Dude is that he's barely green-broke, and he's going to need a lot of ground manners, miles, experience, and some retraining. .-. ) Hopefully I'll be able to lease him from April (my birthday) into August so that I can again, hopefully, take him to Hookstown for fair for a week. I already have my ride up and back all planned out, and other than show fees, it'll only cost $60 for the week.(: $20 up for trailering, $20 for a stall, and $20 back for trailering; other than that, I only have to get money for food (which will only amount to about $30 for the week I'm thinking..because I rarely eat during the summer months and I'll be busy doing other things there, lol), hopefully a little shopping money (only about $50 or so tops, I need to get me a cowboy hat, haha), and the actual show fees (probably around $50 as well. I might end up doing halter too..even though I'll have to work -super- hard for that o.o; )
But overall, that's not all that much money for a week at fair and all that. Hopefully I'll have a job by then, so I'll be able to afford atleast half of it, if not all of it. Then my mum can't complain over another thing. She's really been pissing me off lately, I'm not going to lie. She made my best friend's mum and my BO enemies, and that's not my fault. They don't like how she is, and that's all on her-I didn't do anything to make them not like her. She's never been to any of my 4h meetings, she's watched me ride twice in the 2+ years I've been going to this barn, she wants nothing to do with me enjoying horses; and it's really not how a mother should act. My dad doesn't live around here, he can't make it to the meetings and he normally has stuff to do when I'm at the barn-I can understand why he doesn't come watch me all the time, but she has no excuse. She's been laid off the past year, sitting on the damn couch; it's pathetic.
But anyway, back onto the good topic of leasing Dude.(:
From what she said, that he's here for me to use whenever I'm here, so I think I'm allowed to work with him a little before I start actually leasing him..but I'm not positive. I don't really want to just hop on him and start riding before I'm leasing him, but I would like to start doing groundwork with him over the winter, because I don't really want to waste a whole month of working with him just on groundwork.. :\ I don't see her saying no, that I can't do anything with him other than groom him, but I can understand if she decides to tell me I can't.
I'm just excited overall(:
