Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch - no pressure!

edited January 2011 in General Discussion
So I got this tablet for Christmas and just tried to install it a few days ago. Everything is great, I love the design and the feel and everything but I can't use it for art because: NO pressure sensitivity. I've tried everything I could find online and no good. I've messed with all the settings for my tablet and for GIMP and still no good. I know most people have this problem with Bamboos so I'm prettyyyy sure there's nothing wrong with my tablet. And I shant mention the fact that the eraser isn't erasing - it's drawing, just like the nib end. Sigh. I wanna draw so badly!

Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate it :) thanks!

 • Install the tablet drivers, restart the computer. Check for any brush settings in Gimp. Go to your Tablet Properties (should be added to a folder somewhere in your Start Menu) and fiddle with that. My Intuos wiggs out sometimes and I have to do all this stuff. If that doesn't work, unplug it, replug it, and open/close Gimp a few times.

 • Okay, I'll try that. I need to install all the drivers or just the latest one? Thanks! :)
 • Just the latest one. If you've not installed the drivers, that's definitely the problem. ^^

 • Hmm well I installed the latest one but it didn't work :/ There may have been several all connected to each other but I just did the latest one (because I know next to nothing about drivers heh) But I'll try the other ones and let you know :) thanks for the help!!
 • Do only the latest. You'll need to restart before it works.

 • still no good :/ I think Im going to just end up exchanging it. *shrug*
 • Hm... That's probably the best bet then, since I dunno what else it could be. Usually I just have to wrestle with tablet preferences and install drivers and it's all good to go.

 • Yeah :( my genius tablet was easy to set up and everything though. I mean it was refurbished so it had some big problems later on which is why I got the wacom. I know a ton of people who have the bamboo fun and absolutely love it

That's how my Wacom pen and touch works, anyways. :p

Yeah I had to do that same thing with my genius tablet, so I've done it all along with this one and still no good. I'm not sure what's going on, seeing as I've tried every possible way and the pressure still wont work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but if I am, the wacom booklet I got with the tablet should've specified :/
Thanks though! I tried the eraser thing and it didn't work either >< *beats tablet*
