  Doesn't look anything like Australian Shepherd to me, maybe the camera angle is throwing things out of whack, my first thought as well was terrier.

  That dog does not look like an australian shepherd at all. I've gone to see australian shepherd puppies before and they looked vastly different from that picture.

  I agree with everyone. Doesn't look like an aussie at all. Looks like a terrier mix.

  Terrier pitbull type dog there is no australian shepherd in there at all. He's ridiculously cute though. I take it your friend did no research before buying what is supposedly a high energy intelligent dog that takes a lot of work then.
