My friend Courtney like HATES my boyfriend Mike. She constantly treats him like CRAP. The other day he was messin around and tried to take her pile of books so she freaks out and stabs him in the arm with her pencil 5 times and makes him BLEED. On Friday, I believe, he was playing Call Of Duty and she tried to play a game with him and he declined because he was already in one so she wouldn't talk to him FOR A WHOLE DAY?!?! IT'S FREAKING COD! WHO CARES?!
We all used to be great friends but as soon as me and Mike start dating she starts treating everyone like it should be all about her. I am so sick and tired of it!!!!

What would you guys do? Do you think what she is doing is right?! :|

  • It's not really right, but then again, you're still a freshman. Maybe she isn't used to the idea of you having a boyfriend that you want to spend time with yet. She is used to it being you and her without him around. I know Vampy, Sheila, and I used to be that way. Get upset with each other when we hung out with a guy instead of each other. Now that we are Seniors we are just like,

Garnie: Hey I'm going to Brian's (new bf) after school so I can't come over today.
Vampy: Alright. That's fine. I'll prolly go ridin anyways.
Sheila: Dang I miss Ryan..

or

Vampy: Wanna hang out?
Garnie: Can't gonna be with Brian till about midnight..
Sheila: Going to Ryan's church thing tonight..
Vampy: Oh! It's okay! I'll ask Sandra to come over! *smiles*

See? Now that we are older and used to it, we don't fight/act mean about it =)
It's natural to us that we will be with guys sometimes and not always with each other. I say just give her some time to get used to it and things should hopefully get better =)
  • I agree with Garnet. Maybe she's just frustrated, because suddenly her best friend is now dividing up her attention, and giving it to another. It's completely normal for her to have insecurities, or to even be jealous due to this. A LOT of people go through it. It's a part of growing up. Be patient with her, but I do recommend, if you haven't already, making it clear that violence is never okay.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
  • I always put my best friend before myself. If I didn't like her boyfriend, I'd treat him as a friend anyway so she doesn't need to stress about keeping us apart.
At some point, she didn't like one of my boyfriends, but she didn't make it a big deal. She knew it'd suck for me to have to worry about it.

I think you should sit down with your best friend and talk about it. Afterall, you can talk about anything with you best friend, so it shouldn't be hard.
