• It's definitely a purebred. I doubt it's akc though cause I've never seen anything exactly like it.

Why is this so hard to find lolol, I've been looking all night.

  • It's a teacup Pomeranian, Sushi probably has more info on it than I do.
But, from what I know they are imported and I would highly recommend you do not purchase one.
  • Thank you.

Why, my I ask?

  • I agree with Avla, it's a teacup pomeranian.
They are very big in Asian countries, particularity Korea. Standards and safety aren't taken into consideration with these dogs. They are strictly bred for size and appearance, and thus a lot of these dogs actually live very short lives due to health problems. Not to mention you'd typically have to pay $2000 just for the puppy, without import fees into the U.S. Now, there are some U.S. teacup breeders, but they highly shunned upon for the same reason the Asian breeders are, and sometimes they cross the poms. Any breeder that advertises "teacups" should through up a red flag, if you ever consider getting a small dog.

Now, you can still get a pomeranian that is 3-4 lbs, with no more health problems than a 5-7+ lb pomeranian, and it will cost between$600-$900 from a reputable breeder. I currently own a 5-6lbs pom, and a large pom 10+ pounds. I've also owned other very small poms, but all were int he 3-7 lbs range. I really don't see why anyone would ever need a pom to be smaller than the standard, as it's pretty darn tiny.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.

  • Oh, right. And the inbreeding and such causes even more health problems.

Thank you (:
Yeah, a breeder that uses the term "teacup" should always be avoided. There is a strong chance that they are just fancier puppy mills.
It's all about personality for me. My two most favorite breeds are pomeranians, and Irish wolfhounds, which is quite a size difference. lol.

  • I agree, Newfgirl. It looks like it could be a doll. :P

And at the moment I have a Chihuahua and German Shepherd. Same as you with the size differences, but they have great personalities ^.^

  • These puppies are from on online puppy mill. They edit the pictures so that all puppies have a larger head/eye. These puppies are shipped into our country via korea (is what I have found online) and many die during shipment. Here is an article I found in regards to one of their shipments being intercepted in LA:

<a href="http://www.examiner.com/pet-news-in-national/ten-puppy-mill-dogs-from-korea-intercepted-at-lax-are-up-for-adoption"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.examiner.com/pet-news-in-nat ... r-adoption

They have post these pictures of cute puppies on the site. Then when the new customer wants one, they are asked to put down a deposit, then they are told that puppy is no longer avialable and that that deposit is non refundable. Then the new customer must choose a different dog, NONE looking like the ones on the site since those are all 'BAIT' pictures and all are edited and not real. Their puppies sell for 3800 and up!

Anyone who trys to sell a TEACUP puppy saying its just like any other dog, is usually a puppy mill. They know that impulsive, undereducated people will pay big for false promises. There are many ONLINE puppy Brokers now that sell puppies for PUPPYMILLS. They found a new way to get people to WANT their puppies because they are not real, but photo shopped pictures instead. Be careful.
  • Yea there's no way that any dog would look like that...
I find that picture to be somewhat creepy in a way...
Like if I woke up to that staring at me in the night.... I would pee myself. XD
But it's sad that they photoshop the crud out of them to sell them... Gah..

  • No, those aren't photoshopped.
I met someone who has a little gray one that looks exactly like that, but has a slew of health problems.
