Ugg, so I was doing my makeup, and when I curled my lashes it cut part of them! I hadn't even noticed right away, because I have dark eyeliner on, so I did it to the other eye too! Stupid cheap curler! Right now it doesn't look that bad, but I have no idea how it's going to look when I get my makeup off...I can't even believe it...now I'm going to have to buy some falsies, which isn't a horrible thing since I love them, but still...part of my eyelashes are only half length...probably going to take a month for them to come back...dang it...

 • I never use a curler, just mascara. If it wasn't visible when you had your makeup on, won't it be ok? Im sure you still look wonderful Sushi. :)

 • Ive never used one eithr, does it have a big effect or is mascara just as good?
 • tarnish - I don't use one to often, which is why I settled for a cheap one. I was wearing black liner, and I have natural dark hair, so I didn't see that they were shorter in a particular spot, until I went to apply mascara. I took my makeup off, and it's not that bad, but noticeable if you are focusing on my lashes. More the most part it just looks like I have short lashes.

totouser - Curling your lashes can definitely have a big effect for some people. As opposed to having them natural where there is only a slight curve, you can curl them closer to the base of the lashes, which makes the curve of the lash more severe, and thus the lashes stand out more. For example, when people where eyeliner their lashes can get overpowered and blend in, but if you curl them they will curl above the liner(depending on how thick you wear it), and thus show. Mascara can be enough on some, but for a lot of people it's not enough when they are wearing liner.

 • I only use mascara. My mom told me her mom used a curler a lot and ended up loosing most of her eye lashes. For me, mascara is enough to make my lashes dark and thick looking.
My lashes are already very dark(my natural hair color is almost black), and they are very thick. Only problem I have is length, and a curler really helps with that when I want to accentuate my lashes, but I need to invest in a better curler if I ever want to curl them again.

 • I HATE EYELASH CURLERS. They're evil, and your vent basically proves it.
They curl my eyelashes funny, which is odd, because I have really long lashes, and they pinch me. I just dislike them.
I only use eyeliner and mascara, so my lashes do tend to blend into my eyeliner, like you said, but it doesn't bother me enough to use an evil device, haha. (:

Last I checked, eyelash curlers weren't meant for cutting eyelashes, so I'd be pretty darn pissed... o.o
 • I don't ever put on mascara or use an eyelash curler 0.0
