• Good luck with your license! Im hoping to get mine soon as well. I almost have all my practice hours logged, but I need to do some major practicing on my parking xD

Way to go Kitt!

I personally would try to start over break, Celia. Just adding a little at a time. Maybe start thinking when you grab a snack "Is there something healthier I can eat instead?" and try throwing in a few situps after dinner or something

 • Hey guys,
Just thought I'd let you know that I'm swimming [again, thank God!] and I'll be using running as a cross-train, as I'm training for a 5k.
[Couch to 5k training programs are amazing. Just saying.]

The 5k is in April, however, I'm not a decent runner and I'd like to place decently, and, who knows, maybe I'll turn myself into an athlete yet! :D

 • Woo! It's been a while since I have heard anything about everyone! How is everyone doing with their goals?

The holidays... Didn't go so well for my goal. There was tons of great food. plus with all the hustle and bustle I wasn't able to make my daily trips to the dog park with Clover and the fiancée was doing all the walks around.

Although... I still have good news. One of my bridesmaids was over last night and she hasn't seen my dress. I put on my dress and I am so close to fitting in it! Now that I am back to my regular schedule I know that I can fit into it before the wedding! I might not even need to get it altered! It was the perfect length for me anyways! I am so excited!
Don't worry KittKattize, I was "bad" around the holidays too. I almost made myself sick from eating more than I've been used to for so long. Oh well, one holiday won't kill you!

Congrats on the dress! Are you going going to stop when the dress fits you, or keep going? What happens if you loose enough weight to make the dress not fit you?

I haven't really been able to practice driving, because of all the rain we've had. I'm just too scared to drive in the rain at the moment, because it's been a long time since I last drove. My mother might let me drive to the grocery store, and office supply store today, but the rain clouds are already in the sky, which worries me that I'm once again not going to get to practice.

 • I did a little holiday splurge and now Im paying for it >.> But wih school starting back up again Ill be much better with time managment and Ill get back in track. On the bright side, we got this really awesome scale that tells you your body fat percentage and stuff, and its really cool (: Not 100% accurate, but still useful.

Thats awesome that you can almost fit into your dress! Im also hoping to fit into one of mine by the end of this year.

Driving in the rain isnt as scary as you think. Just slow down and focus. The first time I drove in the rain was during a heavy thunderstorm at night, and no one got hurt. Youll have to do it sometime eventually right? So go ahead and go for it (:

I agree, the first time I drove in the rain I just took my time and gave myself plenty of room in between cars and extra stopping distance. It's good that you're cautious, it means you care enough that you don't want to hurt anyone around you. It's not that bad, it's worse driving in the middle of a snowstorm!
 • I haven't been in the driver's side of the car in probably a year, so I don't want my first time out to be any more stressful than necessary, since I have anxiety problems. I know I'll eventually have to, and that's okay with me, but I want to make sure I can just get around the block without a problem. You have to learn to walk before you can run, right?

It ended up raining today, so I couldn't practice. Other than being personally worried about the rain, my mother won't let me,or anyone, drive my car in the rain if we can avoid it. It's VERY low to the ground, which is bad when the streets flood. It's also a black car, which requires a little more upkeep than our other red car(a Jeep).

Completely true! We are not saying for you to rush out there in the middle of a rainstorm to drive. Lol. You need to be relaxed and comfortable. If you aren't 100% confortable getting behind the wheel than it's best not to.

All I am saying is that when you get to that point it's not as bad as you think. Have courage! I know you can do it.

As for myself, my last day of work is tomorrow. I am both sad, but excited! Sad because I am leaving a great group of coworkers and excited because I start my work placement next week! Also, I apparently need to work on my coordination as I only have to stand on ice to fall down and now my arm is super sore and I have a huge bruise on my elbow!
 • So its been awhile since anyones posted here! How is everyone coming along?

As for myself, after gaining most of my progress back over winter break Ive lost another two pounds. Ive also noticed my tummy is flatter, and Im starting to see some small muscles emerge on my arms ;D And the other day when I put my pants on they fell right back off! I was like...well thats embarrasing xD So now I have to wear shorts on under them to hold them up, and they still keep sliding down some. And the best part is, i just bought these pants right before winter and they were almost too small! :D

 • That's awesome! Well as I have been in my work placement now I was finally able to wear all my nice clothes!

Except I've plateaued... I'm back to walking Clover everynight, except my body doesn't seem to think it needs to lose more. I'm going to try a quick one week diet the first week of February, just to see if I can get over this plateau.
 • Awesome that you got to wear all your new clothes! Good luck with the one week diet!
Congrats about your progress, even if you did gain some back over winter. No one will fault you for enjoying the holiday season. After all, it only comes once a year. One of the most frustrating things about loosing weight has to be clothing. The majority of my pants don't fit at all, and so I'm trying to figure out what I should do them. I'll probably just stick them in the bag of clothes I'm going to donate.

Congrats on moving into your new wardrobe!
Have you heard of high intensity interval training? It really helped me break plateaus, and from what I've heard and read(I can't guarantee it's true), it's one of the best methods to burn fat.

As for me, I've been working on my driving a little. Just yesterday I went out of the housing tract, drove to the shopping center not to far from my house, and practiced parking(with my mother of course). I still need to work on getting use to parking in my car...it's a long car that does not make sharp turns. For some reason I'm driving better this time around, but parking worse than the last time I had a permit. lol. Maybe it was just nerves yesterday.

As for the job hunting, I have applications at Subway, Starbucks, and Walgreens. I haven't heard anything back from Subway or Starbucks, and I just completed the in store part of the Walgreens application the other day, so I'm hoping they'll have an open position, and contact me in the next couple weeks. I really want to work.

 • Though I'm not necessarily still "dieting", I'm sticking to a strict diet for my health(no fast food, no fried food, no soda pop, lots of veggies, etc.). I know I posted up some of the things I used to eat, but I thought I'd share some more ideas that I've tried, or am planning to try. Most of them are just snacks, or a once in awhile thing, but they are much better than potato chips or fast food. Remember, the best diet is a balanced one.

1. Low-fat Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles - I just got these a week ago to try out. I like to put microwaved fresh blueberries(creates a sort of syrup) over the top of mine, and eat them with a cup of tea. The whole wheat keeps me filled up for a long time, and gives me energy.
2. Egg beaters/egg substitute/whites/etc. - I may have already mentioned these, but I LOVE them. They've become a big source of protein for me, since I rarely eat meat nowadays. No fat, no cholesterol, low sodium(that might depend on brand), and packed with protein.
3. Thomas bagel thins - I've only had the whole wheat one, but I'm on the look out for the cinnamon raisin. As far as I can tell it's just a normal bagel, but thinner/smaller portion, which works for me, since I always have to squish normal bagels to get them to fit in the toaster. You can use them for whatever you want. I like to put scrambled eggs or tuna on mine.
4. Blueberries - All the local stores started selling blueberries, and I've never had fresh blueberries, so I decided to try them out. Oh, so delicious! As mentioned, I like to heat them up and put them over a waffle, but I also like to eat them just the way they are, or blend them into a cup of soy milk. Blueberries are low calorie, and considered a "superfood."
5. Graham crackers - I like these, because they are low calorie snacks that make you think you are eating a cookie.
6. Fruit + soy milk - When I couldn't eat anything due to an injury, and really wanted a banana I decided to blend it up in soy milk, and now I love fruit blended in soy milk with some ice. Yes, it's basically a flavored milk or a smoothie, but it's much better for you than the pre-made kind from stores.
7. Special K Protein Cereal - I haven't tried this yet, because it's hard to find(at least at normal grocery stores), but I went into Walmart the other day, and saw they carry it, so I'm planning on getting it the next time I need cereal. It has 10g of protein per serving. Unlike the other Special K cereals I don't believe it has any specific flavor, but you can always add some fresh berries or a tiny amount of honey.
8. Cheerios - Cheerios make good snacks and are packed with fiber. They just released cinnamon blast cheerios, which I'm looking forward to...even though I love the honey nut cheerios.
9. Cabbage - I've found that if I add a little cabbage to my salad it gives it a nice crispy crunch. I can't stand soft, wilty salads. Not super nutritious(though not unhealthy), but low in calories.
10. Fresh/organic products - If possible, always pick the fresh made and organic products. My local farmers market/specialty foods store makes and sells their own fresh fruit preserves, honey, peanut butter, etc. which are all healthier than the preservative packed big brand versions. A lot of the mass produced kinds contain high amounts of sodium(among other things), which can have detrimental health effects, and can cause you to bloat, which is obviously not something you want when trying to slim down!
11. Kashi brand products - I'm going to start trying these products, because all I hear is good things. Actually, the only complaints I've ever heard are that they cost a little more than the common stuff, but they seem to make up for it in nutrition. If that's true, then it's money well spent in my opinion.

 • We buy both Kashi cereal and granola bars. Soo good! And the cereal has a good fiber content.
